I love the look of your rifle, can you give me a parts list? Also, is that an aftermarket barrel?

Oem stock for a predator with the detachable magazine attachment.

Magpul stock

Somewhere I have the complete rifle weights.

The weights are the bare stocks with out the required mounting screws.

I ended up keeping the oem stock on it.  The standard riser was too high for my scope and I couldn't find a medium riser in stock anywhere at the time.  OEM kept the point of balance two fingers in front of the mag well.

Now I have to decide to sell the magpul or build off an action....

Gen 1 vs Gen 2 in regard to the fluted barrel or not?  If so, they are still different rifles still at this point.  Now if you are talking versions within the two different generations of rifle good luck.

Ask for the regular version not the "Gen 2."  There is a price difference in the two as well.

Your pictures showing the weights seem to be reversed. edit- I was reading the scale incorrectly
Also, the Hunter comes with a 1/4 inch riser. To get the flat cheek piece, you would need to order from Magpul's website. I have not seen it anywhere else.

In the local auction results I note a .308 gen 1 for $400 (plus auction fees).  I'm pretty sure it was unfired.  There were some other better deals though, wish I had gone.

Are any of the other calibers out for the Gen 2 yet?

I'm looking at maybe getting a .270.

You are saying the OEM stock is over 3 pounds and the Magpul is 1.5? Or am I after his edit?

OEM is 1.5

Nah, I was just reading his scale wrong because the display is a little weird with lbs way over.

I'm waiting on a Gen 2 .270 too. Checked with local gun shop to see of they had any intel on when we might see new gen .270's and they said no word or rumors on when they are supposed to hit the market.

Thanks.  Indian creek designs chassis. B5 pistol grip.  Mostek 7” 300 blackout barrel 1:5 twist.
Stock is an old Nordic Components (I think) AR 22 stock I had laying around.

Nice, thanks. Any particular reason you purchased a new barrel vs. having the original cut down?

Does anyone know a gunsmith who is set up to chop Ruger American Barrels?

I kind of want to take my Ruger American down to 14.5-14.7" with a PW.

Sadly RAW isn't setup for barrel removal. Id use him if I could.

I'm not against buying barrel removal tools. But I'd prefer it if a gunsmith could do it/head space the rifle for me after.

Hacksaw and cut it yourself.  Use a Muzzle Facing Tool from Brownell's to straighten the end, then a 79 or 45 cutting tool for a recessed muzzle.

90 degree:

79 degree:

About $50 each plus $20 for a caliber pilot:

Can't be any more expensive than having a gunsmith do it; and then you can do other rifles as well (with the right pilots).  I've done several rifles.

Good luck!

I might do it myself on my .223 but I sent my 7.62xCommie to ADCO. That’s pretty cool.

Would be great, but I'm not all that confident. Especially with the pin and weld part. So I'd have to invest in stuff for that as well.

Looks like I'll be going with LRI. The price seems pretty fair, and I don't have to buy any extra tools/risk screwing it up imo.

Dumb question.

Is anyone else having their bolt stop pin work itself loose? I was dry firing my rifle and to my surprise I was able to pull the bolt out by rotating it counter clockwise. On close inspection the pin came loose. I pushed it back in but it loves to work its way out. The stock/Chassis stops it from falling out completely. I wonder if I just need a longer pin?

On my mofo chassis, ICD recommended a dab of clear nailpoish to keep the bolt catch pin from backing out

the Boyds stock and the Ruger stock retain the pin without adhesive

Looks like MDT actually includes a longer pin with their rifle.

I'd be okay trying that.

Worst case I can measure the dimensions of the pin and get something a bit longer from Mc Master

ETA/  The swivels are just regular sized 1.25" Uncle Mikes that I had on hand.  I did recently order a set of 1" swivels to better match the sling since it's a 1" as well.

(I'm coming around on backups on a bolt gun, wannabe-Scout concept be damned, since it's actually the tertiary after LPVO and red dot combo.)
