SFLR got a call from Clayton county animal shelter , asking if we could take an sos medical dog named Rupert!!
They said he came into the shelter as a stray, starving, with open wounds on his tail and back end! After seeing his sweet face we knew he needed us, so we asked to hold him till Friday because we have a medical dog at the house while she heals from a dog attack. They said we had 48 hours then they were euthanizing him…..so.... Off to the shelter we go ….        After meeting him we decided Rupert was the wrong name for this warrior so may we introduce you to RAGNAR the warrior ????

Ragnar went to the vet today !! Everyone absolutely loved him. He was definitely the vets, favorite patient of the day. Good news he does not have Heartworms that is a huge win for us. Bad news he has kennel cough, and he needs special food to help him on his weight gain journey.!
But I will definitely take this day as a win !!! He has bed sores and may have to have part of his tail removed, but no heartworms and that is the win we are going with!!

Ragnar had his follow up and guess what!! He has almost put on 20ibs ….. not sure where lol
But he looks so much better already!!

  Look how amazing Ragnar looks!! He came to us soon and bones and with a lot of love he has gained weight and learned how to be an amazing dog!! He gets along with other dogs , loves car rides and kids !! Even likes cats ! He does get. Little bossy with sharing his toys with his brother but with some work he does just fine !! It is amazing what some love and affection can do to completely changes their lives !! |
