ITT I (others are welcome to join) am cataloguing our recent troop packages sent from the members of The Humidor.
If you're an active duty military man or woman, feel free to post here and we'll get in touch with you. We're always looking for new units to send cigars and goodies to. If you're overseas and need X or Y, don't hesitate to post a list for us. We'd rather send you X or Y than what we think you'd like. Here we go: ________________________________________________________________________________________________ http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_143/1208791_Troop_Pass__Sign_Up___Pass_back_at_home___still_waiting_on_boxes_to_reach_the_troops.html ^Pelligro113 in AFG ^HookMech and EricMM00 in AFG Pelligro113 in AFG _________________________________________________________________________________________________ http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_143/1046027_Cigar_Pass_for_the_Troops__Under_Way__Outbound_PG5_.html&page=1 ^Getting started The pass collected roughly: 30 tubes of toothpaste 15 bottles of body wash 30 magazines 50 toothbrushes One of the recipients from this pass. This is why we do what we do: Originally Posted By TxAgArcher: HI guys, I wanted to drop by and let you know I appreciate the cigars and swag you sent over even though I wasn't able to be there when it arrived. Unfortunately I had an IED go off under my vehicle on 15 July and was medivaced back to BAMC after a short stop in Landstuhl, Germany. End result was loss of my right foot. My limb has healed and I'll be up in a prosthetic the week after next. After that it will be a long period of rehab. I'm working to find out what exactly happened to the package although I'm sure it was opened and enjoyed by my buddies. That's the standard around there. Pretty much everything is community property unless you are there to claim it and defend it. Once I know more specifics I'll report back. Once again, thanks for the support. They later asked for pipe tobacco, cope and toothpaste. Can do. Brad, received the cigars today (1st Nov). Thank you so much, as you can see I've moved to FOB ****. This place is right on the Pakistan border and a little more in the mix than ******. They call ****** "Rocket City" and it has a "Rocket City cigar club", basically a BS and unwind section every Sunday evening. I will ensure that the cigars are distributed as per you request, the tooth paste is a god send as the PX has none. At least three people will have minty breath now!, I'll write a hand written thank you as emails are a little in personnel. I'm sure I'll get stampeded as I hand out the cigars, On behalf of all of the cigar smokers at FOB ****** THANK YOU. It is warming to know that people have us in their thoughts back home. What you guys are doing is awesome!! Im part of 3/1 AD in Afghanistan right now, Our UAV platoon has pretty much gone cigar crazy since we've been here. Around five of us already have ordered and recieved humidors anywhere from 50-150 capacity, i still await mine. They had the one I wanted back ordered so after 3 weeks of waiting I switched my order and it should be arriving in 5 days or so. For the most part everyone is in the experiment stage as far as types of cigars are concerned. There are a couple that are infused/acid type lovers only, but for the most part we all like trying new things. Besides a few guys here and their everyone has gotten the cigar bug and its funny to see some of these guys asking about mail so often, not for packages from their wives but for some tasty sticks! We usually try and smoke around lunch everyday in between aircraft launches. Sometimes we even eat lunch late just so we can get that that cigar in. If anyone is still interested in sending a package our way just contact me for more details.
Thanks, Eric! |

If your ever stuck on the main FOB anytime, come on over to the UAV flight line and ill show you around and we'll smoke a cigar! Unless im on leave, or pushed out to our forward ops site, then my sir, not so sure the rest of my guys would be willing to give a cigar to a stranger. Originally Posted By EchoAngel17:

Everyone pretty much shares whatever they get. We actually get such good support from families and a few churches that have sent us stuff that we give out care package boxes to our Chaplan that he takes out to some of the other COP's and gives out. Heck, we have one guy at forward site that cant get his mail and he got so many HUGE care packages that we called and he gave us the go ahead to distribute, and then we took the rest of his boxes, literally a minute ago lol, and stacked them in front of his door so when he opens it he his greeted with a wall of boxes a little over 6ft high and 3 rows deep! I was finishing up writing it when i posted that so check again...should be there...if not let me know. |

How does one partake in the festivities? I'm in Kuwait and the section I work in coordinates theater land, sea, and air movements... I get the pleasure of dealing with containers. There's about 6-7 regulars who smoke cigars - I'm one of the guys who smokes occasionally, so would definitely share most of the any wealth sent my way with the entire crew.

I had my first cigar the other night and will definitely be enjoying more soon. Four total now. You'll be seeing me around this forum as I learn as much as I can. |
