I would hate to see everything he brought to the music world lost over time. Love these little tid bits like Paul posted. |

One of my old bands covered Story in your eye as well and our bassist who was not particularly adept had to put a lot of time into that bass line. He eventually nailed it.

I saw the Moody Blues in the late 80's with my Dad at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, PA (I was attending Lehigh.) Very good show. My Dad referred to one of the band members as the Ancient Cosmic Rocker. Never heard a better description.

We've actually covered "Reeling In the Years", but our lead player doesn't want to put in the woodshed time to relearn it for our June show coming up.
If I had my way we'd add "Don't Fear The Reaper". I'd like to sing that low harmony part which really helps MAKE that tune. but without that spacy break in the middle |

The second one was sent ahead to the next concert location so that it would be ready when the band arrived. Tony Banks is a wizard that doesn't get the credit he deserves. One of the best parts of living near Los Angeles is the music scene. I followed a couple of bands and one of the keyboard players' day job was buying old keyboards and restoring them for other tribute bands. I asked him about Mellotrons and he said he's worked on a couple but never flipped one so they're still out there somewhere. As I understand the concept the Mellotron is 88 pieces of tape that slide past playback heads as the keyboard is operated so there's just a whole bunch of moving parts. |

But it IS brisk and quite the challenge to play cleanly. One of the happiest moments at our gigs is when our lead player kicks off that intro. Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up cause we ge'in ready to ROCK. |
