I've damn near destroyed plants while transporting them in the bed.  The wind whips hard and they're not used to that.

My truck interior was packed with blueberry / blackberry etc bushes last year, reason being, hauling plants in the bed at 65mph in 90* heat is terrible for them, rips off leaves, etc.

Trucks are for work, inside and outside, dirty, muddy, etc., which is why I think expensive luxury trucks are so ridiculous.

This.

If you have to transport a plant in a truck or trailer , always tarp or net it. Break that wind. Not to mention the roadbed is always the hottest place to drive, it's like hitting those plants with a blowdryer after they've grown up in pristine little environments with the best care.

Then the customers kill them and the growers grow more for next year. $$$

Yeah, don't worry about it, it will be fine.

Considering there's very little payload capacity with the racing shocks and you must be gay to buy a Raptor, it looks pretty normal.

OP's the clown this time. The dude might be planning to drive for 90 minutes at 90 mph for all we know. The plant might be lucky to survive getting transplanted after that kind of stress.

My truck? Nope. Pickup Bed or she comes back in her own ride to get it.

Are you high? No nursery is going to invest time and money in plants to ship them in the open air.

Plants in containers have limited amounts of water available. Even short distances can damage them beyond their ability to recover.

60MPH wind will shock if not kill the plant as you drive 30 miles home.  We'd wrap in burlap or something to keep the plant from being damaged.

Four door pickup trucks ( AKA modern day mini vans) have no room in the tiny bed for more than a box of tampons, so that's why he had to put the shrub in the back of the mini van.

We fold the seats and put them on a tarp in the back seat. Don't want my plants of bushes damaged in the wind.

Or I have the nursery deliver them in a covered truck for $25.

And you will also notice they are either not leafed out yet or are trapped with a breathable shade cloth for protection.
