So I picked this up recently. It’s a 2014 Les Paul Supreme Florentine. They made 120 of them from what I hear. All were blue except for this one. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

What a beauty. Florentine cutaway and a Bigsby, wow.

It originally had a matched set of 57 classic and super 57’s and I got them in the purchase, but it’s wired up with slightly overwound Lindy Fralin Pure PAF pickups right now.

That looks like it cost a fortune
Killer guitar bro! |
|
|
|
Did they all have bigsby's?

Well that's the coolest thing I have seen today.
How much did you get it for? |

I can take or leave the modern, I yanked the auto tuners and may replace the electronics, otherwise it plays and sounds nice. View Quote Nice! I’m at 6 now for Les Paul’s. They’re addictive |

Pretty guitar but it is sacrilege that they *ever* put Super 400 inlays on a mahogany neck.

Sweet looking guitar!
With the prevalence of Chibsons these days, their increasing quality and my lack of experience in this area, I would be nervous about buying a Les Paul these days. I bought mine decades ago. I never realized how many varieties of them there are until I started watching Trogly's YouTube channel. |

View Quote It can be difficult sometimes spotting fakes but this one makes all the markers of a real one. You just gotta know what to look for and after you’ve held enough of them you kinda get a feel for it too. Pickup cavity’s and truss rods can tell you a lot. As for Trogly, I watch his show every day. Can’t get enough of it. |

|
One issue I have with it is that a lot of people automatically dismiss it as a fake or copy because of the Florentine cut. They only made about 120 solid body Les Paul’s with it and like I said they were all blue except this one.

She's a beaut Clark. Its always been my opinion that it isnt really a Les Paul unless it has PAF's anyway so that was an upgrade.
I'm thinking that I saw a video once that the SG was actually the first design of the Les Paul or did I not pay close enough attention to that? |

The Les Paul came out in 1952 and the SG body style came out in 1961 but I heard Cesar in an interview say that the first actual mention of the “SG” was a 58 or 59 double cut junior or something like that. |

Also these Lindy Fralin pickups are freakin amazing!!!

The worst is the odd emphasis he puts on words with "T"s in them. I've posted several comments correcting his info too, so you have to take what he says with a grain of salt. He's mostly correct, but his info can't quite be taken as Gospel. And I'm definitely not a Les Paul expert. I fast forward through his "playing demo" part, which brings his videos to a tolerable length. Sort of. |

No one out there seems to really be doing what he is though. Yeah he’s messed up a few times but usually if he does he brings it up in later videos that a viewer corrected him. I do agree it all has to be taken with a grain of salt. I also skip the demo part but I like seeing the guitars pulled apart and seeing the things he’s looking for. It’s on a much larger scale than I’d ever be able to do by myself. |

I'm certainly jealous of the amount of disposable cash he has available though. |

And yeah I wish I could invest as much as he does in guitars. |

Very interesting.
If there is only one, and it appears to be true, possibly made by an employee just prior to the blue run, then this is a thread from a previous owner from 2017, unless recently means 2017 and you used to live in VA. https://www.lespaulforum.com/index.php?threads/2014-les-paul-supreme-florentine-goldtop.207796/ |

Also he thinks now it was a one off dealer promo for an Asian dealer since he picked it up in Hong Kong.
