Thoughts?
Just started the first episode.
Can these people be redeemed?
I think the lack of self control and abstract thought say no.

Halfway through the last episode right now. I won't ruin anything, but there's some genuinely surprising moments as well as the predictable moments. It seems like the older inmates have a much easier time abiding by the rules and trying to keep things going smoothly than the young kids do.

The local county just agreed to give the proceeds from that show back because they didn't obtain permission first.

It's always like that in prison.

I think that patterns life as well.  Criminal deviance declines as age goes up.  Recidivism is higher among younger people and declines with age, too. (That might be redundant or I said the same thing twice.)

Convicts will tell you the new breed is out of control and just don't listen.

"Aging out" is not exactly a revelation. Remember the young African elephant problem? Same thing. Young + stupid + raging hormones is a thing.

Military service reflects the same thing.

The longer you serve, the more ingrained into the culture.

Also, you have more to lose if you make a mistake longer into your career.

The behavior difference between the age groups is pretty stark.
