Land still in sight...
 Stannard Rock Lighthouse on lake Superior is the place to be. And fresh water supplies will never be an issue. |

One of the biggest reasons the Coast Guard was happy to go to lighthouse automation and relinquish ownership of so many lighthouses was the huge cost of continuous maintenace and upkeep.
Those places are a massive dollar drain. |

- Is there an HOA? - What kind of neighborhood watch do they have in the area? - What does home owners insurance run on something like that? - What are the guns laws 2.5 miles out at sea? |

Another lighthouse with much more difficult access was turned into a business by the buyer by using it to store the ashes of the dead for a decent fee. This one of as very similar design was listed 249k in 2020.  Attached File |
