[Last Edit: Stitches1974]
Will be moving overseas in a few months and looking for help in picking out a decent watch. The last time I bought a watch, it was a Timex indiglo, in the early 90s, for use while I was in the Army. I'd rather whip out a lower priced watch, than an expensive phone, just to tell the time in my travels.
I was originally interested in a Traser Code Blue, but that seems to have been discontinued and I'm not going to buy something off of ebay. Requirements I'd like are minimal. Just basic time. Doesn't need to show a date. Water resistant/proof for swimming and showers. Prefer blue lume over green. Nothing digital. Be able to survive a few knocks. A good strap that will survive water use. Those cheap bands they used on the timex always deteriorated pretty quickly. Would like to spend about $300ish. I can spend more, but that would defeat the purpose of me not just pulling out my phone. |

Go figure. The watch I was leaning towards, has a leaking issue ( as posted from verified buyers ) and CS is non existent. Luminox.

Familiarity and prolonged exposure without incident leads to a loss of appreciation of risk.

seiko 5 sport in whatever color style you like. Decent lume, reliable, looks nice. My 1st grader has had one a year and hasn't killed it, so that's pretty impressive.
Also Deep Blue makes some with fantastic lume: https://www.deepbluewatches.com/ma20daydaswa.html |

They dress up nicely and if you want to dress it down you can drop a NATO on it. As long as you're getting some sunlight, they run basically forever. I picked my blue promaster up from jomashop for like $175 when I got it. The earlier suggestion of Orient isn't bad either but the movement is auto, not sure if OP wants that. My Orient Kanno picks up scratches pretty easily and runs too fast, needs adjusting every few days. |

There's a Citizen authorized dealer near me, that actually shows what watches they sell in their store, online. There's a Seiko place across the street from them, but show nothing. I think that will be a crapshoot, as the only other watch brand they sell is Rolex.
I'll stop by the Seiko place tomorrow, preparing for disappointment, then will stop by the Citizen place. |

Unless they have like a Submarine or s GMT in stock at that Rolex AD
These are the 3 I would recommend Also I would stay away from the Citizen automatics They have not worked all the bugs out on them yet https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/BN0200-56E.html https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/BN0241-59H.html https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/BN0150-28E.html |
