I am not ashamed to say my bike cost more than my most expensive firearm. More like as much as my top three firearms.
|
|

My most expensive firearm is about $5000.
My bike was $6000, before the upgraded saddle, cages, axle, cargo rack, cycling computer, sensors, etc. I have about $7200 in my bike as it sits. So yea. Bike is more expensive. That said I get way more usage out of it. I should probably sell more guns and buy a nicer bike. |
|
|
Not totally sure. Could be a tie?

I guess I am a rube. The $500 Giant ATX I rode at bike mart feels just as good as the $11,000 Specialized S-Works Epic EVO LTD I rode. Maybe better.

Familiarity and prolonged exposure without incident leads to a loss of appreciation of risk.

Only own one bike.
By itself much more expensive than a single gun. In total, guns. |
|

On average, my bikes are more expensive than my guns, especially in these PSA years.
I had one gun that was more than what I've spent on any bike though. Most I've spent on a bike: $3800. Most I've spent on a gun $4k. So it's close, but overall MTBing is an expensive drug. |

My bike was less than a PSA daily deals AR. Walmart Mongoose gettin it done.

After discounts my Gen 6 Fuel EX was 5k without discounts it would’ve been $9,500. I now have an SR15 on the way that was way too much. After corncob way above MSRP I’m happy to admit they’re about the same cost at this point.

I paid $1100 for the frame and fork, plus the wheels were custom and handbuilt and nothing on it is less than good, so bike, by far.

Thanks!
It's from 2010 or 2011 and was a gravel bike before gravel biking was cool. It was designed as an off-road touring bike and is basically a 29'er version of an 80's to 90's MTB. |

Bike easy. Nearing 9k.

My bike was probably less than $200 (it was a birthday gift, likely from Walmart so not positive).
I don't have any firearms less than that right now since I sold off my Keltec pistols. |

You just made me do some math of how much I have spent on bikes and guns.
I didn't want to do that math Bikes are more. Boats, even more than that |

Bike by a long shot.
I stopped road riding not long after I donated my kidney. |

My shotgun is way more expensive than my bicycle and any motorcycle I’ve had. Caesar Guerini Invictus III I think I spent $8k on it but don’t tell my wife

Bike that is easy....each one of them are 3-8k so yeah.
I do have a cheap chinese carbon road frame that was fun. Was a F8 clone....I put 10k on it still have the frame around here somewhere. I stopped using it since 25c is the largest tires you can put on it. Next up I might buy a cheap SL7 clone and put L-Twoo eRX on it. That way I can have 10, or 12 speed crit bike that does not cost a ton (the groupset can switch from 10 to 11 to 12 from the phone app...just a drop down menu). I can put it in 11 speed mode to match my road bike cluster.....or maybe just get another set of wheels with 12 speed on it. |

Bikes were $2500-$3200. Add in a $2500 wheel set to my road bike and yeah, they cost more

At a clearance price of $2,250 it will be more $ than any single gun I own. |

I know a bunch of hardcore road riders who think nothing of a 50 mile day. Every damn one of them has spent at least one night in a hospital because some douche with a cell phone wasn't paying attention. Fuck people who text and drive. ETA: sorry about the bike. Hope you're ok. |

Bike was on the rack and I was on the interstate. Roval Rapide CLX Wheels, new Sram force crank and derailer, the rear triangle took a hell of a hit, can’t believe it didn’t shatter like the wheel.
Hopefully her insurance will do the right thing. At least I have the gravel bike and mountain bike to ride |

Just did the math. Bike is going to be just about $9500. So again, bike.
I spent way more then I thought. |
|
|
Probably depends on which bike and which firearm.
|
|
|
Firearm by a long ways if we include suppressors and optics. One thermal is more than the bike.
eta: also apparently my bike is cheap. |
|
|
Depends on how you look at it.
The over/under was $2800. My road bike was $2100, but I changed the group set and wheel set which nearly tripled what I have into the bike. |

No bike any more so that kind of limits my response choices.

My road bike was totaled, bike shop valued it at $6800 to replace bike and wheel set. Bike I’m looking at is closer to $8k. We will see how it goes.

Firearms - with or without optics added.
That said, I buy my bikes used and sold my higher end bikes for a nice profit during the CV19 shortages. Right now I am riding my old early 2000s Santa Cruz Heckler. When I complain about the weight I remind myself that I am better off losing some more fat than spending $$$ on a new frame or components because I am not doing high speed single track or hard downhills anymore - I have reached trail speeds more akin to a beach cruiser. |

Not much to be done about the 26” wheels though |

I could steal a $10,000 bike and not be charged with a felony if caught with it. I would think that anybody would say the risk of ownership or possession of a firearm would be far more risky of a venture. My 12 cents.

I currently have $5 into this one
Attached File I'm not spending money on high dollar bikes anymore when I am only riding 6000 miles a year. I have maybe 15 bikes, spent $2500 on my Colnago C50 Just riding for exercise. Get out have fun!! |

I saw they released the latest model. Glad to see some color on the frames again. The Roubaix has been pretty bland looking for a few years. Glad to see FS 3.0. Mine has the 2.0 and it leaves me a bit underwhelmed despite having the better of the two available on the 2023s. |
