Dropped off my 870 with my brother to take to a gunsmith. It will be drilled and tapped for the GG&G base to fit a Trijicon RMR. Other than that, nothing.

Like you I have always been skeptical of the flimsy plastic Wheeler gauge and replacing it was on my list of things to do sooner or later. In the last day or two there has been a Rimfire Central thread on trigger gauges and the Lyman digital unit was consistently praised. I would love to avoid spending $70 or more on a better gauge if the cheapo Wheeler is “just as good.” Anyone else have feedback they’re willing to share? |

Picked up another .38 S&W top-break revolver at a gun show for $100, seen in the middle below with my other 2 in the same caliber I have owned for a while, so I keep ammo for that around.
The (new to me) one in the middle is apparently an H&R 2nd Model made between 1913 and 1915. It needs a little work but I think I can make it run without it blowing up on me. Should be an interesting project. The other 2 are an H&R Model 926 (made between 1968 and 1984) and an S&W 5th Model (made in the early 1900s). Attached File |
