I have some penny stocks that folded (1 share of Smile Direct Club, 10 shares of Infinity Pharmaceuticals) and the stock value is zero. I'm out like $35.

Is there a reason to leave these in my portfolio, or should I pursue deletion of them? I didn't know if it was possible for them to be worth something later after liquidations or whatever happens to companies that shit the bed.

I had a penny stock that went out of business. I just left it alone.  Years later another company bought the ticker symbol and I had shares in the new company. They did enough reverse splits that my share count fell too low and its gone. LDSR was the ticker.

Leave them as a reminder and a warning to not do stupid things.

I would just leave them be.  As already mentioned, they serve as a good reminder of the fact that stocks do go to zero some times.  There is a possible chance that you can recover some thing in the future, but not likely.  It has happened before, though.

The only value they have currently is as a loss on capital gains if held in a taxable account.
