It's actually @Striker, and not me.
However, as a general rule, the NATO badge is intended for people that served in foreign NATO militaries - with Striker (Canada) and myself (Denmark) being the most prominent examples. There are many .mil people on ARFCOM who served with NATO units, or were temporarily attached to NATO units, or part of NATO task forces, etc. - like your example - but that's not what the NATO badge is intended for. Part of the issue is that it would be extremely difficult to try to figure out where to draw the line, or how to determine who qualifies and who doesn't, so the rule right now is basically service IN a foreign NATO military.
I am sure Striker will correct me if I mis-explained anything.
