For me its my 58 degree wedge. I can hit 10 balls with that SOB and I will get 10 different distances from 2 feet to 100yards and every damned thing in between. I can have my divot fly farther than the ball as well as top the friggen thing and go 100 yards @ 10 feet off the ground.

Any iron 5 or lower. 6 is borderline. I'm good with 7-9, P, S, L, etc.

I only pull my 60 for hero/zero shots. Honestly since I started relying on my 55 wedge my game had improved a lot.
My most frustrating club is now the 3w..... |

3 wood.
Yesterday is a perfect example. 517 yard par 5, I've got like 270 at least to go after the tee shot, so 3 wood it is. I top that fucker 10 yards, yeah, "nice swing dickhead." Then I go up and stripe that bastard as far as my drive, dead straight...... WTF...... |

Fairway woods, regardless of the loft. I can hit a 2 iron much more consistent and reliably than any fairway wood, whether from a tee or off the fairway. In fact, I don't even carry a fairway wood for this very reason.

They are all inconsistent for me when I don't shoot 36 a week and hit the range once or twice.

It's the dreaded 3W for me. If I hit it right it's like a rifle shot, dead straight. The problem is that I seldom hit it right
Maybe I should try a 3 hybrid. |

Right now it's my 56. Coming off winter league my distance control is not calibrated well. 50-70 yards has been an adventure (everything long). Some of that has found its way into my iron play as well.
Wednesday night league subbing for my dad. It hit a stock 9 iron 150 into a cold breeze. Tough to score when you're putting from 35'. |

Fairway Wood. Every. Fucking. Time
I've come to just leaving it in the bag. I'll probably take it out eventually. I've pretty much given up on it, maybe I'll come back around to it. I can't efficiently & effectively use it. I love my hybrid and that's usually what I'll grab in the fairway when I've got some ground to cover |

Mine has been my putter. I can hit my line but it comes up short, or I nail the speed put push it right. Couldn't get the two to line up till I played around with the super stroke grip with the weighted insert. Now I'm getting it online with much more consistent speed.

Well, I may switch to 3w off the deck as my nemesis club. I was hitting driver with a nice, high draw consistently tonight.
Set weight to fade with -1* and neutral on the adapter and swing my swing. |

Do you want occasionally pretty, or do you want to lower that handicap to 15? |

Serious question, advance the ball or play conservative (no hazard and good lie situation) and split it up? Conservative play, a mid iron and wedge on, but, that's two chances for me to fuck it up. At the range, 6i, average carry 157, 35' right, 59% consistency. Gap wedge, carry 99, 28' right, 71%. I could almost as easily leave myself a shitty lie with a 6i or fuck up my wedge . Or.....Go with the wood. Carry 205, 32' right, 41% consistency (when....I hit it, it's straight). Maybe I top it 20 yards, or maybe I hit it pure and get close or even on. |

Laying up to your favorite yardage is another old myth proven wrong by modern statistics. I’m not saying hit an iron. I’m just saying find a “max fairway advancement” club that is easier to hit than a 3 wood. For most people it’s usually gonna be a 5/7 wood or some sort of hybrid. Besides being easier to hit decent, a lot of people actually hit 5 wood longer than 3 wood off the deck because it improves launch conditions |

My hybrid is my worst club right now. Got fit for it at TPI in Oceanside and was striping the ball better than I ever imagined. Perfect ball flight, straight, exactly what I wanted. Now, it's like I don't remember what end of the fucking thing to hold.
I am seriously leaning towards replacing it with a 2-iron or 3-iron. My long irons are usually pretty consistent. I just need to have a club with about 10-15 yards more in it. |
