Bought my wife a S&W Shield Plus today. Got it home, cleaned it and was going to install the optic. S&W obviously employs lumberjacks to install the screws into the optic plate cover. Had a good, tight fit on the hex screw...but no budgie. Heads now stripped. Suggestions??? I don't want to proceed any further without some good ideas as I don't want to make matters worse.

Get the correct size drill bit and screw extractor. Drill, get the extractor started, apply heat to the head of the screw with a high wattage soldering iron to melt the thread locker, extract.

Thanks guys. Got the screws out. Used a heat gun to heat the screws, tapped the hex bit in with a brass gunsmithing hammer. Pushed down hard with the driver handle while turning and broke them loose. Screws had yellow loctite on them. Plate was made of plastic.
