My local PD didnt fill out one box on my finger print card. I got the card back in the mail from FL dept of ag with it highlighted. It took them 3 weeks to get it back to me. It has been almost 3 weeks since I mailed it back completed. I am looking to see my permit any day now... hopefully.

In retrospect, I wish they could have simply called me and asked who did my finger printing. I didn't even need to go back to the PD, the instructions said I could fill it out myself if it was a law enforcement office who did the finger printing.

Bummer. Another 4 week wait.

do you need to have a pistol permit in your home state in order to get a non-resident carry permit?

No, but some states will not honor just a Florida permit, you must be a resident of that state to have them honor it. Michigan is a example of that rule.

Whats the BIG deal about a FL CCW????

Now when I moved here to FL the SHERIFF said my IN. CCW is all I need
and it is good here in FL!

It expired and Now I have the COOL PLASTIC ID CCW with picture

(IN. CCW is just a pink paper slip NO Picture)

I know FL/IN and other States except out of state CCW

IS A FL CCW GOOD IN OHIO???

Its a big deal to me because in order to get a Missouri permit you have to be 23. I am 22, MO honors FL permits.

Read the thread, there are at least 10 good examples of why a FL permit is better than a home state permit

100% good in Ohio and allows me to carry in more states than a Ohio permit would.
