Wasn't intending to buy but found this at my LGS today and couldn't pass it up.

Very clean 3913 made in 1999, box and 2 factory mags plus another blued mag.

Great gun.

They really feel great in the hand. Going to see how the wife likes shooting it vs her J Frame.

I have liked those ever since Demolition Man. I trade a Glock 26 for a 3913 years ago.

Years ago I bought a, I think, 3913 Tactical. Could be a regular one but pretty sure it's the Tactical. I need to take it to the range. I think I even ordered a few extra recoil springs for it. Feels really,  really good in the hand. You're gonna love it, OP!

Going to put some rounds thru it tomorrow. Looking for a holster for it now.

Prefer owb leather if anyone has any thoughts.

I've always thought they were classy looking as well.

I remember seeing them in the 90s and wanting one but always being broke lol.

I’ve been wanting one but man, they are 750 on gunbroker for some kind of beat looking 3913’s. I want one so bad but not at that price for what is essentially a collector piece.

I got this 3913 NL on Gunbroker two weeks ago for $445, with shipping, tax, and transfer fee I ended up around $530.  They can still be had for reasonable prices if you are patient and this one looks almost new.

I just won a 5906 on GB. I wanted a 3913 or a 5906. Got it for 455. I hope its in decent shape. It does say in the listing that there is some wear on the left side but I can’t see it in the pics. Its probably minor but these guns are like 25-30 years old.

Nice find.

Once upon a time, I had a 3913, 3914LS, 5906, 457 & 4506. All great shooters, but all gone now. Don't make the same mistake, OP.

My first S&W was a 4006, followed by a 3913 in my early 20s, both matte SS. Great guns, for sure.

Will do! I gotta say I’m jealous though. Your 3913 looks mint. I would go into my lgs more often to search for cool used stuff but I would go into debt cause I would want something if I saw something cool.

When I had both, I found that you could switch the slides of the 3913 & 5906 to the other frame. Never fired them that way, but couldn't readily see why it wouldn't work.

It is pretty close. Can't really find any wear on it.

I was in there checking to see if he had any word on my lipseys Ultimate Carry J frame and saw this in the case marked$449.

I offered 400 out the door and he accepted.

I got my carry permit in July of 1995.  Virginia (where I was living at the time) went shall-issue July 1, 1995.  I had the permit by the third week in July.  I was very impressed by the turn around time given the recent law change.  My first carry gun was a regular (non-NL/LS) 3913.  I carried it for a year or so, then got distracted by other things.  I have really missed the little gun for a long time.  I couldn't resist this one.  I will probably carry it at least from time to time.

You got a great deal on that pistol. Many guys will not even consider it due to the "Lady Smith" being printed on the side of it, which is ok, as it leaves a chance for someone who knows how accurate and easy these are to shoot to get it. I had one for years and never cared about what anyone said about it. the only one who is going to care is the one you point it at if need be and they won't care what is written on it. The only issue I ever had with it was getting more mags, as they are pricey.

Right, this lead to the NL lol.

That said, I don't mind it at all.

Mine came with 2 factory mags and another unmarked black mag. Not sure who made it.

Honestly I doubt I'll shoot it much. Just always like this gun in particular and wanted a 3rd Gen Smith in general.

Unless the wife wants to carry it, it'll probably be shot once a year.

Picked it up yesterday. I was expecting holster wear but it has a lot. I rolled the dice though hoping to get something in better shape but oh well. If I wanted something nicer, it was going to be 200-300 dollars more and it still looks clean inside.

That’s an early 3rd Gen with the old style fixed sights, D-hook trigger guard, and chrome flashed forged trigger/hammer.

That wear is character. 😎

I would have no problem carrying that one. Would carry quite a bit better than the 6906 I have from AIM a few years back.

Use some synthetic steel wool to buff out those scuff marks.  I got a 'NIB' Sig P220 that had scuff marks on the stainless slide from rattling around in the plastic box when the chamber flag pushed it up against the plastic box.  I'm assuming it was a bumpy ride in the UPS or FedEx truck.  Before I paid to send it out to be bead blasted, I figured I would give it a shot.  By brushing the finish front to back, I was able to make the finish look pretty good in just a few minutes.  Enough so that I didn't send it out.  It actually looked close enough to a stainless brushed factory finish that it made the gun look truly NIB again.

Sorry, I was talking about the one @Ivan1 got.  A lot of LE trade in guns have a ton of exterior wear, but look good inside.

jmt1271 Your gun looks great and no need to mess with it.

That looks night and day better for the amount of effort put into fixing it up.  I do miss stainless guns for this reason.  It's easy to make a stainless carry gun look better from holster wear with some synthetic wool.  I don't touch blued guns (except to remove rust) or alloy frames.  I have a J-frame stainless cylinder revolver that I need to polish up.  The horsehide pocket holster really does a number on the cylinder.  There is some wear on the frame, but it's an alloy frame, so I rather have some wear than remove the anodizing finish.  Eventually I'll have it painted when it gets bad enough.

I’d love to add a 3913LS but they never come up for sale locally. As a matter of fact, neither do most 3rd gens. Even .40 3rd gens aren’t common.
