I’ve been using Specialists for years and years. However, with the work from home shit, my getting lazy, etc… I find myself wearing sweatpants or joggers often. My usually holster is a JM Wing Claw, but I purchased one of his universal holsters with that steel FOMO clip that is supposed to catch a waistband string (only using a 365 in this context). It works well enough, but I doubt it would support my usual, larger, pistol.

I purchased a Covert Belt this morning to see if it jives with gym apparel. $35 risk it doesn’t work, so what the hell. Has anyone used one of these? Do they suck? Comparisons to that Enigma rig? Any positioning tips? Whatcha got?

I'm curious how it works out for you, I have an Enigma, only used it a couple of times with a 365 below the belt, it worked OK but I never really dialed it in either. I pretty dress around AIWB daily or pocket a snub if that's all I can get away with , doctor, dentist etc. The Covert belt looks like a good option for standard AIWB but tuckable if necessary.

Mine has been great.  Bought it for when I’m wearing gym shorts.  Also opens up possibilities for wearing bigger guns with a tucked in shirt.

I don’t run the mastermind but I do rock the enigma.  The enigma is perfect for carrying under formalwear or sweats.

Personally with my enigma I normally carry a 43x with dot & spare mag.  If I want I can set my enigma up to carry a g17 and it still doesn’t print.   The key to the enigma is playing with it a little to get it dialed in just right.

I use a fanny pack when dressed like that, athletic shorts and sweatpants pockets are too lousy for just about anything. Wallet and SAK go in the front pocket, gun and spare mag go in the main pocket, flashlight is ok clipped in shorts pocket. It's probably more comfortable than a tight belt right on your skin.

Working remotely today and wearing bum clothes so I’m giving this thing a run down. It’s extremely comfortable and so far no issues supporting my C2 and a spare mag. Pleasantly surprised there because it feels much thinner and softer than my Specialist belts. Initial impression is that this is 90% as stable as wearing my normal gun belt with jeans. I’m going to go sledding with my kids in a few hours so well so how it does with more rigorous activities.

I have had one of these belts for a couple of years now. Works great if you are wearing a hoodie with gym shorts or sweat pants. Just tuck in your shirt and let the belt ride on top of that. Then use the hoodie as your cover garment. Surprisingly comfortable and it stays put pretty well too.

I tend to use a fancy pack over this setup though. If I want to just wear gym cloths, chances are I’m also too lazy to get the whole belt rigged up. Easier to just put on the fanny pack.

How'd the sledding go ginger?

I love my Covert Belt. Have used it to carry a gun as small as a G26 all the way up to a light-equipped G17.

The rubber stiching keeps the belt in place so well often times I put the belt OVER my sweatpants when I go for a walk with the wife, instead of under. Makes it feel very similar to carrying in conventional belted jeans. I use it all the time during summer too when I do yard work, and have no complaints.

The Philster Enigma looks awesome but the Covert is so much simpler. I appreciate that.
