We all know, well, most of us know, that the old Rock River guns were great.

Has anyone messed with current production ones? I really like the look of the 1911 Carry 5" that are around on the market.

RRA Website.

I bought mine about 5 years ago and I like it. The front strap is a bit aggressive on bare fingers but it doesn’t slip when you have sweating palms.  I can’t locate the box but I think that I paid about $1,800 for it new.

I always wanted one since I went to high school in rock island.

ROCK R I V E R (RRA) makes some of the finest 1911's out there.

They definitely fly under the radar, and I think I've read they were still making pistols for the bullseye crowd all these years.

I stupidly sold the ADCO-spec RRA 1911 I had years and years ago. Regretted letting that one go ever since.

I've heard nothing but good.

Wish I wouldn't have ordered one before their price jump.

I have one in 9mm. It’s pretty tight and shoots good groups. The trigger is clean, but not exactly light. So far, it runs well on several brands of magazines.Attachment Attached File

I got one a few months back and ran a hundred rounds through it without a hiccup. It ran so well I converted it to a 460 Rowland. Close to 1000 rounds of my own receipt and it appears it functions better than most Rowland conversations.

I have my own qualms about their 2001 spec AR15's, but their 1911's are still great options.

I work about 3 miles from them

I found my RRA 1911 box and it had the original receipt in the box.  I bought the pistol for $1,800 and now it's listed on the RRA website for $2,925.

Why would I buy a RRA over an Alchemy?

In this specific case, because it’s a 6” gun with Aristocrat sights, that should shoot about 1 1/2” groups at 50 yards.
For a BBQ gun, there’s no reason to choose RRA over Alchemy.

Well, I found a real old one (cleveland IL) for $1499. I am excited to see it when it shows up.
