I go to take the trijicon picatinny mount off a 508t x2 and noticed it’s getting hung up slightly on the front lug.  Comes free with minimal effort, but when I get it off, it looks like fine powder on the lug.  Weird.



I look at the where the lug goes into the optic and there’s more of the powder in the recess, and a little oddly-shaped hole.  Wtf?  The lug feels tight in the recess, with no slop.  So I don’t think it was vibrating and wearing a hole in the recess.  Ever seen this?  I’m stumped

It definitely seems like corrosion.  The mount looks perfect.

I’m stumped.
