Just wanted to know if anyone can give some info about release date or any other details without violating NDAs.
S&W Pistol patent published 04-21-2022 Click To View Spoiler Abstract An action for a firearm uses a rotating barrel on which are mounted lugs and a cam follower. The barrel is positioned coaxially within a tube fixed to the frame of the firearm. A cam, engaged by the cam follower, is also fixed to the frame. A gas space is defined between the tube and the barrel by a thrust surface on the barrel and a reaction surface on the tube. A gas port connects the gas space with the barrel's bore. A slide overlies the tube and defines longitudinally oriented grooves which receive the lugs when the barrel is rotated by interaction between the cam and the cam follower to align the lugs and the grooves. Motion of the barrel is arrested by interaction between the cam and cam follower, and motion of the slide relative to the barrel is permitted when the lugs align and engage the grooves. Click To View Spoiler BACKGROUND Low recoil impulse cartridges such as the FN 5.7×28 mm, .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire and .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire generally do not work well in pistols using the Browning short recoil locked breech actions and require use of blowback, delayed blowback or locked breech gas operated systems for reliable operation. There is clearly an opportunity to improve on the reliability of such actions. |

Well, damn it, now I need one.

Yes please.

Well that's interesting

Sounds like the old Beretta Cougar with the rotating barrel. Problem with suppressors as it'll unthread the can from what I've heard. But it's a cool design idea. Of course the Browning action remains king.

I could use a M&P 5.7 in my life.

Love the idea. Hopefully they dont ruin it with a shitty trigger or a grip that feels like you're holding a dog turd.

Lots of trademarks that are live and fairly recent. No clue if any of these would be used. Edit - above link may be expired. See follow up post. Originally Posted By giantpune: Love the idea. How's the trigger? Performance Center level, Apex Tactical M&P level, or mediocre?
I would say it felt just like the standard m&p 2.0 trigger, except flat.

Originally Posted By Evintos: How's the trigger? Performance Center level, Apex Tactical M&P level, or mediocre? View Quote Somewhere in between. Take-up was cleaner than the M&P 2.0, the break kind of rolled instead of being really crisp, had some over travel. I liked it, but it's not refined and will not be confused with an Apex kit. |

Appreciate the info about the trigger. Thanks!

I wonder if anyone will make light bearing holsters for this.

Look forward to seeing your wife test the pistol, as I think a major market for the pistol could be women and those that are recoil sensitive. Very curious to see how the fixed threaded barrel plays with Fiocchi's new 62gr Subsonic 5.7 https://www.targetsportsusa.com/fiocchi-range-dynamics-5-7-28mm-ammo-fn-subsonic-62-grain-fmj-57sub62-p-112685.aspx |

I see the trigger is an internal hammer design- my question is, is it more along the lines of a Glock, as in perfectly safe to carry without a manual safety? I know some striker fired pistols have, in an attempt to have a great trigger pull, had a setup more akin to carrying a single action pistol cocked with no safety.
I greatly prefer no manual safety, but want to be sure this would be safe to carry this way. |
Can't see how it'd be unsafe to carry it without a thumb safety based on design...
So you can only mount small optics like the RMRcc or will regular size pistol red dots fit too and just hang off the sides a little?

I appreciate you posting a link to the video, I’m going to have to sign up for Rumble now. Has anyone tried it with a 5.7 capable .22 can? I wonder how my Sparrow would do on it or if the barrel is concentric enough being a 2 piece design. |

I HAVE to get this!

Any new reviews posted?
Pretty excited about this one. It’s about the same height as a 365 macro, same width, just longer. Might see how this works out on the hip haha |

I'm trying to acquire one :D

I like the optics mounting better than the Ruger and of course the recoil should be even lighter. |

Would the Holosun EPS or EPS carry be a better fit for this gun?
And what's up with that unsightly gap at the front of the frame and slide? It looks like the front of the frame is drooping. |

I have not heard of this as being a complaint. With the pressure of the recoil spring, it can sometimes cause this. It normal and a cause for concern. Thank you, SWCS I still want one though. |

So I didn’t notice this, but mine is missing the extractor! I have no idea how the hell it even functioned . Looks like it’s going back to Smith and Wesson.
