Playing with the camera today.  Thought I would share a picture of my Bulgarian 1982.

DeSantis pancake holster?  It looks a LOT like a 20-some year old Desantis I've had since I got mine right from the Bulgie importer back in the early '00s!

Sounds like fun. Was that Mak just a shop gun or some carry gun that was "aquired"

Russian double stack is best Mak…

Especially threaded for suppressor.

Shop gun, I did make a IWB holster for it however.  Had G17/19s for carry guns.

Mmm, Makarovs.  They're great in their original form, or with a little bit of personalization.

Here's my Bulgarian with a refinished commercial Russian slide with upgraded fixed sight, a retention holster, and a beaver tail grip that allows for drop-free mags:

I still have the unmolested surplus Bulgarian slide, to boot.

My favorite Makarov when it comes to range time. Bulgarian mil pistol that was customized by Marianne Carniak of Carniak Custom in Michigan. I stumbled upon it a few years ago on GB. Some internal polishing, matte hard chrome, and Novak 3 dot sights. I ditched the red Bulgarian/Russian grips for East German black bakelite ones.

2nd place is my East German Makarov found at a Virginia Gun Collectors Show that was also hard chromed but, with brushed flats and matte rounds. Both pistols are easy to clean but, the Novak sights are a drastic improvement on the Bulgarian pistol.
