I bought a new 329PD 44Mag.  On only one of the six chambers, the cylinder doesn't want to release and swing out from the frame.  Again, this is only in one of six positions.  Doesn't matter if live fire or dry fire.  You can bump it out but you have to give it a whack from the other side.  The cylinder release button moves easily and full range of motion.

Anyone know what's going on?  I'm not a revolver guy.  Thanks.

I’m a sorta revolver guy, but no expert.

What position is the sticking chamber in?  Like lined up with the bbl?
Any obvi marks from binding?
I don’t know, maybe cross post this in the gunsmith forum, or just send it back to smith.  If you attempt a fix then send it in S&W might get shitty.

You said dry fire induced too, so no chance bullets are pulling causing this?

I just know it is only one chamber out of six when it doesn't want to freely swing out from the frame.  I'm not sure which chamber it is.  No obvious marks to my eye.

I don’t know man, but here’s a bump up.

Hey, one quick no harm suggestion, make sure the ejector rod is screwed in fully and tight.  My S&W 44 had a nasty habit of backing out.  They do that.

Look for a build up of debris on the front of the cylinder that could be rubbing against the forcing cone when that cylinder is lined up with the barrel.

If the front of the cylinder is clean, I'd rotate the cylinder with a light shining thru the cylinder gap and watch for varying clearance there.
If so, I'd check for a bent crane.

Maybe check each cylinder with a .002 feeler gauge to make sure it will pass through

Also debris under the extractor star. Ejector rod loosened up is my be though
And remember the rod is reverse threaded, so tightens to the left

If the ejector rod has partially unscrewed, let us know. There are more wrong than right ways to fix it
