I have a 1986 or so Buckmark and it was time for a new barrel, ordered one from Midwest gun works and this is what I received.    I talked with them and emailed pics yesterday so waiting on a response back.  They sound like a stand-up company so will see.

Thinking I should just clean it up and live with it yet ask for a discount back or would you want a better product.   The rifling look questionable inside, but I can't compare it to my current barrel with no idea how many rounds I have put through it.   It's a shit ton for sure, other parts have already been replaced.

Well I already paid for this, and I would like to keep it original. And while those are nice I could dang near buy another Buckmark.   That said there are probably cheaper Tac-sol barrels on fleabay.  Not to mention that slab side original barrel is pretty accurate.

I assumed you would be sending that back.  You could clean it up, but obviously, you shouldn't have to.

My original barrel was accurate, but not threaded.  :)

Looks like someone bought it, used it at the beach and then decided they did not want and returned it .

I'd send that back, no question.

The more I look at it, the more I am leaning that way.

When I opened up the paper towel type wrapper they had it in I could tell right away something was up.  I went back to the website thinking I missed the word "refurbished" somewhere, but it wasn't there.     I just wonder what the rest of their inventory/parts bin is looking like though, guessing they don't sell many and they have been sitting awhile.

Definitely. At best that's an old stock barrel that's been sitting dried out for who knows how long. I don't recall ever returning anything to MGW, but I've had enough good experiences ordering that I can't see them hassling you over a return for replacement/refund.

That said, and I know you want to keep the pistol all Browning, but I love the TacSol barrel I put in my Buckmark. Lighter and accurate.

Just to follow up, they got back to me and emailed a return label and are shipping out another barrel.   Hopefully they will inspect this one before shipping it out, so will see what shows up.

Good, and yeah, I hope the replacement is in better shape too.

Got the Barrel in yesterday and it was in perfect condition, and MGW was easy to work with.   Looks as good as the day I bought it 38/39 years ago.
