I got to run another maybe 75 rds Fri again 115 and some 124 gr Gold DOT I had for years I bought a 1000 rd can for 150 bucks at a show from a ammo guy! I know a Glock is a Glock and I never had problems with them , when I looked this 17 over seemed unfired no ware on barrel or even the slide lock ,nothing , just no box or mags I did install the latest ejector that Glock makes , never did fire it with the one that was in it but I remember some gen 4 guns had brass to the face and I saw one that would just dribble the brass out some times, so I just went ahead and did the swap out , , the sights are dead on but I would like to put night sights and sum times then they won`t shoot as good was thinking fact Glock sights , or maybe Ameraglow but I know there are gen 4 and gen 5 sights from them .

As far as Glock Gen 4 and Gen 5 night sights you can use Gen 5 sights on a previous Generation Glock pistol in 9, 40 & 357.   The front sights are the same height 4.1 mm.  The Gen 1-4 comes with a 6.5 mm rear sight height.  The Gen 5 rear sight  is 6.1 mm but the notch is a little wider.   I put Gen 5 factory night sights on my Gen 3 Glock 23.   I guess I’m not a good enough to tell but my pistols with 6.5 mm rear sight seem to shoot point of aim and so do my Gen 5 6.1 mm rear sight pistols.

You can buy Glock factory green tritium night sights from GT Distributors for $57.  These sights are not individually packaged but GT gets them in bulk.  I’ve bought several sets.

Here is a picture of my Advantage Arms 19/23 LE kit with Glock 6.5 mm rear and 4.1 mm front Tritium night sights.

Here is a picture of my Glock 44 with 6.1 mm Gen 5 pattern front and rear tritium night sights.  Notice the front sight on the Glock 44 has a different profile than the earlier front pattern sight.

@VASCAR2
I just picked up a G45. Are the 19.5 sights you posted links to the proper height for my pistol?

I guess I never knew there were height differences between different generations. Thanks for posting that.

I prefer the Gen 5 NS because of the wider rear notch.  I buy the 4.1mm front (#39750) and the 6.5mm rear (#39745)to keep the same sight picture as the Gen 1-4.

I also prefer the wider rear notch on the Gen 5 rear sight.  I just picked up a new Glock 20.5 today and it has the Glock factory tritium night sights as my Gen 5 17 and 19.  The Glock 20.5 uses a different height rear but the new 20.5 shoots close to point of aim for me as I had no trouble hitting my steel plates.

I have both rear sight heights used on my Glock 19 pistols.   My Glock 19.3 has the 6.5 mm rear sight as does my 19.4.   My 19.5 has the 6.1 mm rear sight as does my 23.3.  I can’t tell a significant difference in point of impact with a dead on hold.   The 6.5 mm is supposed to give a dead on combat hold as is pictured by the far left sight image.  The 6.1 mm supposedly gives a slightly lower impact but I can’t really see much difference when I’m shooting.   There are marks on the side of Glock rear sights which indicate the height.  One short line is 6.5 mm on my Glock gen 1-4 sights whereas my Gen 5 sight are stamped in the notch 6.1 or 6.5.

I just looked and my 20.5 rear sight is marked 6.5.   My Gen 5 17 & 19 are marked 6.1 mm.

Picture, combat hold, combat hold and far right 6 O Clock hold.   I normally aim with the point of impact sitting on top of my front sight.   I think the picture illustrates aiming using three white dots aligned for poi, middle picture is setting target on top of front sight then far right is 6 O Clock hold.   Not a lot of difference on target between 6.5 mm rear and 6.1 mm rear sight with 9 mm or 40 caliber Glock pistols with me shooting.
