With Australia they got the complete Sig package. Curious how well the light is. Won't switch out my FCD plate and RMR. I do wonder if Trijicon will do something like that Romeo 2, then again I hear there is another MRDS that Sig is developing for the military. |

There is a mark that shows where to remove material. |

I need to cut some new griptape for it. Does anyone have any photos of the military use an optic on the P320, or a M18 with M18 X-Conversion? The stock photos often shown with the X-Conversion don't match the description. View Quote That is a nice looking pistol! Cool engraving on it too. As for optic plates there is the FCD and now Trijicon makes a pretty slick set up for both the civilian and military M17 and M18. Both are made from steel. |

SIG sold some contract overrun slides. There is a thread here about cloning that gun. I think I'm pretty close, but I might not have the correct barrel. I haven't bothered to replace the grip tape after the last time it peeled off. I don't care about aftermarket optic options. I'm curious if the military has been running any optics yet. |

That I do not know but hopefully over time this will have a wealth of info and pictures like the Special Forces Glock thread. I believe Combat Diver based off of what I was reading in the other thread knows about this. |

Archiving happens automatically when a thread reaches a certain point where it’s been XX days since anyone posted to the topic. That of course tends to happen when topics drop to the second page of the subforum, and people are no longer actively participating in them. Sometimes the moderators will reactivate a topic if they get requests from forum members. It’s up to the discretion of the moderator, as I understand it. There have been many good threads that eventually get archived. Unfortunately we can’t keep them all active. I’d like to see this old one opened up again, as an example - lots of good info in there: P320 9mm mags |

For those who aren't aware, SIG made four special M17s for the 3rd Infantry Regiment Sentinels at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetery. Aside from being beautifully polished with wood grip panels, they have a number of interesting and unique features. Highlights include an aluminum grip module, each pistol has a name engraved on the dust cover - Silence, Respect, Dignity, and Perseverance, XXI cocking serrations to represent the 21-gun salute, and aluminum bases on the 21-round magazine engraved with the names of the Greek figures featured on the Tomb of the Unknown – Peace, Victory, and Valor. This article provides more details about the four pistols:

Interestingly that pistol doesn't have a safety like the other gov M17/18s
|
|

I'll be honest, I totally missed the lack of a manual safety on those pistols. Great catch. I'm sure they're fully functional, but since (hopefully) they don't intend to ever fire them, they must have decided it provides a much cleaner appearance and is easier to maintain them in that condition.

Yes, P320-M17. The M18 was a typo on my brain.
Those black P320-M17's were originally sold as a distributor exclusive for/by Talo. |

I wasn't planning on a tan M18 because I just got a black one a couple months ago and didn't see the "need" for one. However, I really like the idea of the military production version, just don't have the budget for one at the moment. |

It's neat to me to know that my issued M17 could have been in one of those photos. Some of the photos directly above are funny as hell though.
