Picked up a Russian Makarov Baikal IJ-70 to join the Bulgy and the rest of the 9x18 pistols. Paid $400 for the gun, 2 mags, and 350 rounds of ammo, which I think was a very fair price. Here are some pics:

I have it's twin.  I added a fixed rear sight and some East German grips, just because.

I plan on posting a range report once I can get out to the range within the next few weeks - super busy right now. Glad you guys like!

Wow OP, that's a clean one. As mentioned above, a fixed rear sight and some Mil grips will go a long way.

I wish my IJ70 was in good cosmetic condition like that OP.  Mine was a daily carry gun for it's previous owner.  It's fugly with a lot of external carry wear but internally it's sound and still a very good shooter.  One of these days I keep thinking I'm gonna have it refinished but I never get around to it.

Do you remember how bad the holsters smelled on the Russians as opposed to the East German.

The East Germans used Saddle Leather.  Not sure what the Russians used but it smelled like it was cured in urine.  Maybe Keltec did them.
