I was out shooting for .223 day yesterday and came across this at the gun counter, used. I’ve always wanted one so I bought it. I generally know nothing about them other than the tacked thread in here I’ve scanned and my vast knowledge of 80’s action movies. One mag, no box or papers, and has some wear. The serial number lookup on Beretta.com did not have any info so I emailed them to get the year of manufacture at least, unless someone knows another serial number search?  Hopefully Saint John McClane approves.

Hell yeah brother!!  I’ve been looking for one for quite a while to scratch my 80’s action movie and 90’s military service itch!  How much did it set you back?

$545.00, hopefully a decent deal, anyone have anything I should keep an eye on maintenance wise?

Great guns and sweet shooters.  I've had several over the years.  Currently an M9 version.

I would probably put a new recoil spring in it.

If you want to slick it up the Beretta Xtreme-S Trigger Group will do it.

Bought one after a deployment in 2009 or so. Love shooting that pistol.
Enjoy your new piece!

My 92FS whim purchase was one of the OD Green ones years back.

Always wanted a 92FS and when I saw they made an OD green one I saw it on gunshelf and did not hesitate.

I want a tan M9A3 but...   Cakifornia...

Keep an eye on the EE, handgun magazine section.  Beretta 92 mags pop up pretty regular.

That looks like a very nice "whim" to me so congratulations
All you need to know is that it's a great pistol.  If any springs need refreshing I go here;

If you ever get interested in a decocker only safety lever;

Now slap a Langdon trigger job in a bag in it and really see what it can be!

Snag some Mec-Gar 18 round mags for it.

Congratulations! I bought an older 92FS Centurion a month ago on a whim myself. I second the Mec-Gar mags. They are great magazines.

I also bought a set of the Ultra Slim grips from Wilson Combat. They are a game changer for me. It took a good handgun for me and made it great!

I bought mine on a whim as well, it very good looking gun. I have multiple CZs with CGW jobs and the 92fs is still one of my favorites. I did swap to deocker only as well.

Here’s where you need to get your additional mags .  $10 shipping too.

Lanbos Armory Mecgar 18 rounders

Oh shoot, just saw your state.  Hope things have changed and you can get them.  I haven’t been keeping up.

Made in Italy, metal trigger, guide rod, mainspring retainer, etc...  all metal no plastic? (other than the grips)

Lucky.
I have been looking for one of those for probably 10 years.

The BH in the little box on the frame is the date code Italian guns use.  BH is for 1996.

I have the USA version and am quite happy with it.

It is considerably heavier compared to my PPK and is just slightly lighter than my Springfield Armory 1911 in .45 acp.
While heavy, I find it easy to carry IWB.

I didn’t stop there….the EE had this fine example marked AH, a 1989 F. A true 80’s Beretta.

Good advice. I bought 13 of the milsurp M9 Checkmate Mac’s for mine they run great ( without the desert “moon-dust” ) despite their bad reputation.  I use them in my 92FS and CX4 carbine.
I think I paid $10 each a few years ago.

I did the same thing about two weeks ago. I had a 92 back in the 90s and sold it, and I always regretted it.

Most naturally pointing gun I ever owned.

I have already put a D spring in it. Love it!

Congrats. Been looking at picking up one myself to scratch the Lethal Weapon/Diehard itch, lol.  Had one years ago and should never have gotten rid of it. Great guns and super reliable.

I like my 92fs.
It is super reliable - unless you are shooting alongside a CZ75 and accidently get the magazines switched. Took about 190 minutes of fiddling to get the mag out and the Beretta cleared. After that, things went back to normal, and I never use those weapons side by side.
