I picked up a new-to-me Rock the other day and it seemed to struggle a bit with the Federal 40gr FMJ I had for it. No issues with light primer strikes or anything and it would extract and eject just fine but it semi-regularly stopped just short of going all the way into battery, maybe a millimeter or two out, and the trigger wouldn't reset. The slide would go into battery with a firm tap but the trigger would usually also be dead so I'd have to cycle it at least far enough to reset it.
I have some AAC ammo on the way, only bought Federal on the shelf out of impatience to try shooting it. Great pistol except for the part where it didn't work about 20% of the time
Before I reach out to their CS about it on Monday, anyone happen to know if this is a common or understood issue?
I'm guessing it was a franken-gun because it has a black optics-ready slide with gold barrel that I remember seeing on sale a little whole ago paired with a lovely sniper green slide
All the frame pins look fine, only light and expected wear on all the internals you can see by field stripping it.
