This. I’m quite surprised at the quality of the KCI mags. And the POF were a good deal, half the price of the HK mags.

Wow, kci mags are ok?  That's surprising!

What about AC Unity? Although, I wouldn't want them unless they have steel feedlips which I don't think they do.

These mag prices are nuts.  And I thought MPX mags were expensive.....

The newer ones (Gen 2) are good to go. Did a few successful mag dumps with them. The old ones seemed to have weak springs and the last round or two May or may not feed. Put a $10 German spring from HKparts in them and they ran like a champ.

ETS mags are great for range.  OEM spec for real use.

Mine are not. The last round gets left in the mag.

Also despite what people say, the AC unity mags suck.

In my experience ETS mags have been good range mags. The couple that have had issues have been replaced by ETS no questions asked.

All 6 of my AC Unity mags have had feeding issues and and I have received only radio silence from the manufacturer. Stay away at all costs!

HK nd MKE mags have been 100%
POF mags have been good. I have had 2 that experienced feeding issues and swapping out the original mag springs with Wolff springs cured the issues in both cases.

Overwatch precision O-mags were not reliable in my AP5–2 different ones. Too bad because they’re only like $25.

I had 1 ETS mag that worked flawlessly.  The other 5 I sold off.  ETS offered to replace them but I stick with the POF of KCI Gen 2 mags.  Both of those have been solid with the 10k+ rounds through my clone.

HK mags average around $65 each.
MKE mags average around $37 each.

Are the HK mags worth a 75% cost increase premium?

This can only be answered by you.

What I recommend is:

IF YOU ARE ON A BUDGET

Buy 2 more HK mags so you have 3 total. This is plenty for primary use.
Buy 8 MKE mags for range use and "back up".

IF YOU ARE NOT ON A BUDGET

Buy 10 HK mags.

ETA:

KCI ... I have no personal experience, but I've had marginal to very negative experiences with other similar NON-OEM magazines.

ETS ... Some people swear they're functional, but that has NOT been my experience with a variety of their other model magazines.

HK are first choice & cost the most.
I have a Zenith and have used KCI Gen 2 & AC Unity 30's with no issues after sending the gun back 1 time for the BCG rubbing the feedlips.
I have used Overwatch precision mags once with a hickup here or there. I think it was ammo related but I have not tried them again yet.
I just got some ETS 40's & have only used a few of them but they were flawless. One thing I have learned with the ETS mags is they are known to be hard to load. If I give a small shot of Remington Dri lube to the inside of the mags it makes them load a LOT easier.

MPX mags pop up on sale. I paid less than $10 ea for my oem MPX mags. HK MP5 mags. Don’t.

I have had good success with the AC Unity mags  obviously HK mags are good.

ETS sucks.

If you spent the money on an actual SP5 then buy genuine HK mags.

No reason to buy clone/knock mags when you intentionally bought a real deal HK.

Just my opinion.
