What would you choose for a 1911 chambered in 9mm, that’s meant to be carried every day, shot often, and costs less than $1500?

Edit: I have some experience with most of the major handgun platforms, including single stack 1911s.

The reason I would prefer 9mm is that I’ve simplified my handgun collection and would like to only have to order 9mm and .22LR for the time being. I’ve got a competition gun, now I need a dedicated CCW.

I’ve never owned or shot a 9mm 1911, but it seems like I should consider one. I’ve carried full size 1911’s in .45 and always found them easier to carry than lighter double stack guns.

I always wanted a Ruger SR1911 9mm Officer pistol.  I think I missed the boat.  I have not seen one in a long time.

P35/HiPower from Girsan/EAA or Springfield.  About as good as it gets out of the box for under $700.

Used DW Vigil or a Springfield as a base gun and have it built how you want it.

Single or double stack? Optic? Rail?
Lots of good options out there within your budget

Tisas has several "carry" models out now that are worth a look
https://tisasusa.com/tisas-1911-pistols/tisas-carry-series/

Single Stack w/ Rail
https://tisasusa.com/tisas-1911-carry-b9r/

Double Stack w/ Rail & Optic (RMSc/k)
https://tisasusa.com/1911-carry-double-stack-9mm/

For a single stack slim & "light" setup that doesn't break the bank I went with an RIA CS-L
3.5", aluminum frame, 9+1, runs 124gr HST without issue

Excellent math, but poor reading comprehension.
IMHO more of a GD response...

Springfield Prodigy 4.25"?

I've got a recent manufactured one and it's a great shooter.

Nothing wrong with a 9mm 1911. For 9mm, stick with a 4" or 4.25" 1911, unless you like the look/feel of a 5".

As I mentioned in my above post, Springfield is the way to go, IMO.
