Boy, those Turkish guns sure are popular.

Looks like a lot of gun for the price. Front checkering and the fiber optic front are pretty nice.
I was looking at these recently when I was browsing options for factory front checkering. Can add the stainless Tisas magwell for 60 or so too |
|
|
This is one I've been looking at. I'd swap the front sight and the safety for personal preferences but besides that it looks nice.

I wish Tisas would make this model in all stainless or all black finish.

Damn. I didn’t need ANOTHER Tisas but that’s pretty sweet looking. Might have to pick one up

Would the "Raider," model be a good host for a 460 Roland system?

I would guess those parts are coated, easy fix to coat them to a stainless finish. SDS offers the stainless replacement parts also.

It is on sale today at Palmetto State Armory.
$499.99 https://palmettostatearmory.com/tisas-1911-duty-45-acp-5-8rd-pistol-ss-black-10100551.html I've been on the fence about getting one but PSA got me at that price. Looks like the same frame as the match and I am happy with the way my match turned out. |

Does anyone have 1 of these models in hand that can post photos?
Im curious how aggressive/sharp the checkering is and worried about being disappointed again. The JSOC I bought was checkered with fine and dull points so it isnt super grippy (still better than nothing) |

There's nothing wrong with a little personal baggage, it's owning the whole luggage store that's the problem.
|
I picked mine up yesterday after work but didn’t get a lot of time with it before going out for dinner.
It seems like a great pistol but the slide to frame fit on this one is just like my Raider, on the looser side. It’s not loose enough that it rattles but I definitely wouldn’t say it’s as tight as my Colt or SA. I’ll take it apart, clean it, and get it lubed up once the sun comes up. |

DMN!! Sorry, but I think thats a really sharp looking gun! 45 or 9?
|
|
FJS and FJB!
|
|
How's the checkering?

Tisas says those are 25 LPI on the checkering.

Picked up my Duty Enhanced and the case has a green sticker saying QC approved - I guess it is about the safety recall.
Out of the box trigger pull is HEAVY - so bad I grabbed my scale to measure it - consistent at 7 pounds - that's pretty bad. Comes with brown wood grips with really dull checkering and a set of black rubber grips - I like the rubber grips better. Barrel bushing to barrel fit is .001" and barrel bushing to slide is .005" Slide has no vertical movement on the frame and very slight side to side movement - measured frame and slide rails and the slide is .003" loose on the frame - this is the thickness of a sheet of paper - pretty happy with this. It passed safety checks but noticed the disconnector is hard to push down and thumb safety is too easy to move, and extractor is out of wack and needs adjusting - spring problems. First group at the range is good: Attached File Worked good for about 125 rounds then it was too dirty and had 2 incomplete feeds. Good enough accuracy though. Attached File Barrel fit looks good but the slide stop fits very loose. Slide stop and thumb safety look like MIM parts to me - replaced with Wilson Bulletproof. suspected MIM: Attached File Attached File The hammer pin was stuck in the hammer and had to be driven out with a punch and hammer - this is wrong, it should be able to be pushed/ pulled out with your fingers. It was sized wrong and force fit. The sear and hammer (black) along with Cylinder and Slide parts that are replacing them (stainless). Attached File |

Sear spring bent too far - I guess someone thought that is how to fix the hammer following. Tisas on left, Cylinder and Slide on the right.
Attached File That's the cause of the 7 pound trigger pull. Here is what I replaced so far. Attached File Trigger pull is now 4 pounds 2 ounces consistently. The checkering has flat tops. Front strap. Attached File MSH Attached File Here is a Chen MSH to compare - the Chen has points. Attached File Out of the box I was not impressed but it did work for over 100 rounds with just a cleaning and oiling. The slide to frame is good and really that is all I expected after going through my Tisas Match .45. I like the pistol a lot so far in spite of the bad assembly but that is fixed now and I can't wait to shoot it again. Trigger is good and it passes all safety checks. I will deal with the extractor later. |

Looks like an awesome gun for the price tag but I was hoping for more aggressive checking (my JASOC is flattened as well) |
