These are my two Hi Powers, one I've had for years and the other is recently acquired.  I'm trying to decide what to do with them.  The top one has import marks and the bottom does not.  Debating selling one so if I could ask a value that would be helpful as well.

1) leave them as is
2) send one off to get work done to it (if so, which one)

I'd take the ugly bottom one and ship it off to Nighthawk's Bob Reeves  and it will come back beautiful, tight, and last the rest of your life.

Leave em as is. FM Hi Powers are from Argentina. Your Hi Powers look to be from FN.

Agreed. It's the more classic of the two.

All good Sir.

I also have an Israeli FN Hi Power in similar condition as your top one. I like that it has the Star of David on the right side of the frame above the trigger, like yours.

Always a temptation, I like that these are representatives of history. You could get a Turkish Hi Power that has all the wizbang stuff on it.

I took out the mag safety and put IIRC a heavier trigger spring in it. The trigger spring gives it a better / more positive reset feel to the trigger. I still would like to trim a bit off the rear of the hammer to remove the hammer bite.

I also had one that was reparkarized. A friend of mine talked me out of it.
I still have the 2 of the left. The older MK1 still has the mag safety in it. I like reminding myself how horrible the trigger actually is.
