Just picked up my first ever USP, and it came with two hammers - spurred installed, bobbed in the bag. I'd like to install the bobbed hammer (along with converting it to v3 and greyguns short reset), but I can't find clarification on if the bobbed hammer is a match hammer or not. I know the spur hammer is part of the match trigger system but does the bobbed hammer that comes with the Expert have the same geometry as the match hammer, or a standard one?

I could find an explanation of standard vs match for the spur hammer, and I know that MGW at least has the expert bobbed hammer as a different listing (PN 217981) with different markings than the standard hammer (PN 215692), but on the HK Webshop it only shows the standard bobbed hammer. The only post I've at all been able to find noting a match bobbed hammer is an old external forum thread that mentioned it offhandedly in an otherwise unrelated discussion, so no further explanation there. Unfortunately as this is my first/only USP (for now...) I don't have a standard hammer to compare dimensions against.

Changing the hammer is in no way a deal breaker, I've been fine and happy with spurred hammers for years now, it'd just be nice if I could swap it over since I've no need to be thumbing the hammer.

TIA!

There is no match bobbed hammer, it will increase your trigger pull weight

Ah well that's a bummer, but I'd much rather have this trigger than a few mm off the back of the gun for mainly aesthetic reasons. Thanks for the confirmation!

Take the hammer out and just mill the hard rubber off. Should be easy. I’ve considered doing this to my USP45 hammer. If you do it right it will look oem or indistinguishable from oem.

Aren’t Match hammers marked with an “S” as well?

I’m not saying there is much possibility that a bobbed S marked hammer could exist, just inquiring.
