My sister in law who works for the department of revenue gave us a heads up yesterday on the Montana state income tax changes set to go into effect this year.  It's a kick in the nuts to middle class and lower income Montanans.  Looks like our taxes are going up by about $1000 as are hers.  Unless you are one of the new transplants living on capital gains from the sale of your multi million dollar home in Seattle or San Francisco who will be paying less in taxes under the new rules, you may want to look into the changes and adjust your withholding amount.
