Got an old 28" Mossberg barrel I want cut to 18 1/2" and have the bead reinstalled.

I was thinking about sending it off but if there was someplace good local I'd rather do that. I just never get out and don't know anyone.

Give Ozark Armory a call. not sure they do that specific work but I think they have a custom shop that would be capable.

I’d try Benton county gunworks in Rogers.  Have a nice machine shop / gunsmith’s shop there.

No gunsmith at Ozark Armory.  No custom shop either.

I keep meaning to contact them.

I could send it off, there's a member here who has place that does it, but it's a several week wait that way.

Borrowed a tubing cutter and a tap from work. Saved myself $125.

Okay that was too easy. Well, it looks good anyway. Got no place to try it out rn to make sure it shoots okay but the muzzle and the bead look exactly like the one I cut off so I'm optimistic!

I frequently see old 500s or parts kits that are cheap because they have old, plain fixed choke barrels nobody wants.

I think I'll just start buying them all and cutting the barrel down.

Done. No place to shoot it, but done.

Curious if you worked out how to shoot it yet.  (Based on GD thread)

Do NOT do the "hold it loosely by your eye" advice.

I like the suggestion to hold it against my junk and do a pelvic thrust with each shot. Probably try that.
