In case any of you are traveling, or know someone who is, on the upcoming craziness, Arkansas DOT just published a projected traffic outlook for that day.

Ohh, yeah. There have been meetings. At least here. Emergency Management folks pulling their hair out and chambers of commerce salivating.

I looked at the weather forecast.  Supposed to be cloudy and rain

87% chance

Might be a blessing in disguise.
Or it might make traffic jams even worse.

Latest from a neighbor... some of the local gas stations will be closed for the day of, so they don't run out of gas.
Even if it rains, we're going to have about double the population.

Looks decent here weather-wise, but word is multiple local venues have big events planned for which they have not sold a single ticket.

This going to be as big of an event as Y2K

I agree.
After all the hype, there was no traffic Saturday - all the locals stayed home, and even normally scheduled events saw little takers.
Whether or not there's a sudden influx on Sunday/Monday remains to be sane.
I could do without the clown show.

Same. I work for a county, and we were expecting issues. Tons of authorized overtime. I'll be glad to twiddle my thumbs for a bit and go back to my regular job.

I did. And I concur. I was not expecting to enjoy it that much.

I am glad to see someone had photo success! I ran into problems trying to get the shot.
Then the traffic: not nearly as bad as predicted, but very bad in a few spots in the aftermath.
Whew we survived!

Made the trip from East TN to a little place called Success, Arkansas.  Couldn't have asked for a better spot.

We were part of that traffic problem you all had in Guion, Arkansas.  Came from NC to see your beautiful countryside

I'm alleged to be a photographer... but was really off my game this time.
I can see why someone might travel a ways to take photos, since I mucked up the opportunity of a lifetime.

Traffic was not a problem for me, my commute home was pretty clear. looked like the interstate was a bit of a jumble for a few more hours. That sucks about your picture. I have the appropriate level of confidence in both my equipment and my ability so I stuck with the advice to just download images off the net.

I was in the Mt View area. Totally enjoyed the eclipse. Got up early Tuesday morning and drove home to Dallas. Great fishing as usual on the river.
