Planing doing a weekend away from the house for me and the girlfriend’s one year of dating anniversary. Main plan is going to see Tabasco and the gardens. Maybe go see some of the historic stuff in New Iberia. Curious if anyone has a good hotel recommendation or definitely where not to go.

There are several of the box roadside hotels right around the Hwy 14 and US-90 crossroads if you insist on a hotel.
I would look around for a neat AirBnb that is on the edge of the swamp or cane field with some character. New Iberia has lots of neat little rental cottages. I think you can even rent a cottage or two at Jefferson Island. |
