Thinking about checking out the Gulfport/Biloxi/Long Beach area.  Maybe buying a condo to rent out as an AirBNB type thing.

Any recommendations for good areas, things to do, shrimp to eat?

Thanks!

I've never thought of the condo rental thing.  There are some huge beach front Condos that I don't think you could turn into an Air B&B.  I know nothing about the Air B&B business, when I think that I think older house, and a lot of that prime real estate got destroyed.  GPT has a nice walkable down town, Biloxi has an assload of Casinos.  Both have some shitty areas.

If you want a rental property for weekend getaway type places I would look towards the west side of Long Beach and Pass Christian.

White Cap is one of my favorites for classic gulf coast seafood.

If you don't like gambling, there is fishing, lots of good kayaking spots, and eating.  We have some pretty diverse competitive shooting as well.

I grew up just a few miles outside of gulfport to the north and lived through the era of real buildup in the 90s-00s and saw the changes that hurricane Katrina brought on.

I agree with the above post, if buying a condo is your idea, I would personally pick Long Beach. Not that there's a huge variety of condos there but there are few beachfront options.

Long Beach and the Pass are the closer knit towns on the coast, way less crime and bullshit goes on than the beach's tea of Gulfport, Biloxi or ocean springs. I'm moving back to the coast from Virginia next month and plan on buying in the outskirts of pass Christian if that helps

Too close to Kai. I would avoid.

I live in Long Beach, born and raised in Gulfport.  I would rather pay double the property taxes and live in Long Beach than live in GPT if that tells you anything.

As far as eating, can't go wrong if you stay off the tourist traps in Biloxi.  Good eating at any off the beaten path dives.

Hit me up when you get down and I can show you some good grub.

I have live in Pascagoula or Ocean Springs for 33 years.  I would NOT live in Gulfport.  YMMV.
