I've started my stuff in -25 before with no issues, but you never know. Maybe it'll be even colder than they say, fuckers miss the mark all the time. Oh and if you are having an issue with your diesel starting and you can't make heads or tails of it change your fuel filter/s. Just had that issue a couple months ago with my backhoe. Thing gets hard to start when the filters need changed. And cold weather sure doesn't help. Backhoe has #1 in it and anti-gel. But the pickup just has regular old #2.

Not fucking around this time.

Always a good idea to be prepared!

I'm not going to be surprised if it hits -50° where I am. I don't plan on going outside too much for a few days!

I enjoy being inside with plenty of firewood and good books.

I doubt any of my vehicles would start without an awful lot of encouragement.

I've been using Hotshots secret for years, but like with most additives I can't pinpoint a verifiable difference. But I'm still going to use them. They took all the lubricity out of the fuel and these fuel systems are stupid expensive to replace. The only diesel additive I know works from personal experience are the fuel catalysts. With the newer DPF equipped pickups if you plan to keep the emissions intact I'd get some. There are a few brands out there, search for Diesel Fuel Borne Catalyst. I've never found any on the shelf anywhere, had to order it online. It's spendy stuff, but dealing with the nightmare of DPF problems made me say the hell with it and I got a couple gallons. Peace of mind. The main benefits are that you supposedly get a more complete burn on the soot in your DPF, and shorter regens. I know it works because it shortened my regens. On my wife's diesel wrangler it cut them in half and on my Powerstroke it cut them about a third. That said regen length is not that big a deal to me, but making sure the stupid emissions system lasts is. I contemplate having the pickup go on a weight loss diet, but it hasn't annoyed me enough for that yet.

Which Diesel Anti-Gel Additive is Best? Power Service Diesel, Howes, Hot Shots, Stanadyne

I only use the EDT and the winter formula. I don't buy in to the rest of their offerings.
