Planning on traveling through this area 4/5 and needing to stay overnight. Can anyone suggest a relatively safe motel/hotel to stay? Thanks.

Same question.

Close to Jasper, the holiday inn and hampton in Kimball are fine.

Same hotels in Jackson TN on 40 are fine.

Germantown hotels outside of memphis along 40 have been ok.

That's all I got.
