Yeah. And the bill's sponsor is a freaking so called "Republican".

HB 337 is the worst bill introduced so far in 2024. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere on this forum, so far. It reads like a labor bill until you get to the last half. That's where the gun stuff is hidden. They want to repeal firearms preemption. They want to repeal the firearms sections of KRS 237.115. It is by far the worst gun bill I've seen so far. It is filed by Josie Raymond and Sarah Stalker.

@softpoint - I'll double-check that one. Thanks for the heads up!
New bill from Friday HB2. Looks like another school choice bill. Wording is vague, basically says that the legislature can choose to fund students education as they want. Will be a constitutional amendment like the other one (hb208, iirc). |

Main one I saw today is Senate Concurrent Resolution 111
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION calling upon Governor Andy Beshear to support Texas Governor Greg Abbott in securing the Texas border. |

Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File WHOM TO CONTACT WHEN: 4. The left-most column above shows where the bill is currently. The key to the abbreviations is at the end of this Alert. If a bill has nothing next to it, just contact your Senator for an SB or your House Rep for an HB. If a bill has a committee (eg. HAg), contact that committee AND your Rep or Sen. (Ex. If it says HAg, it is in the House Agriculture Committee, so you’d contact that committee plus your House Rep). If a bill is on the floor of a chamber, contact your Rep or Sen depending on which chamber. (Ex. If it says SFlr, that’s the Senate floor, so contact your Senator.) If a bill says Gov, do nothing, because it will probably pass via override even if he vetoes it. Remember that bills go through both chambers to pass, so you may be calling your Senator or a Senate committee about a House bill as things progress, or vice versa. EXTRA CREDIT: 5. Go to https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/findyourlegistor/findyourlegistor.html (or search KY find my legislator and choose the first option). Find your legislator and it will show their phone and email. 6. Call your legislator's direct phone number and leave the above message and a brief reason. Be polite and succinct. 7. Email your legislator and leave the above message but put the key points in the SUBJECT line for best impact. Keep it brief and friendly. (Ex: Subject: Co-Sponsor HB 26. Taxpayers shouldn’t be funding lobbyists.) Abbreviation Key: HAg – House Agricultural Committee HAR – House Appropriations and Revenue Committee HEdu – House Education Committee HElec – House Elections, Constitutional Amendments and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee HHS – House Health Services Committee HJud – House Judiciary Committee HLO – House Licensing, Occupations and Administrative Regulations Committee HLoc – House Local Government Committee HSmB – House Small Business and Information Technology Committee HSta – House State Government Committee HTour – House Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Committee HTran – House Transportation Committee HVM – House Veterans, Military Affairs and Public Protection Committee SAg – Senate Agriculture Committee SAR – Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee SEcon – Senate Economic Development, Tourism and Labor Committee SEdu – Senate Education Committee SHS – Senate Health Services CommitteeSJud – State Judiary Committee SNR – Senate Natural Resources and Energy Committee SSL - Senate State and Local Government Committee SVM – Senate Veterans, Military Affairs and Public Protection Committee HFlr – House floor SFlr – Senate floor To H – has passed Senate, will be assigned to House Committee next To S – has passed House, will be assigned to Senate Committee next Gov – Governor’s Desk (if he vetoes, it can be sent back to the chambers for veto override) |

View Quote HB337 hasn't been assigned to a committee, and likely won't. Sponsors are a couple demoncrats. House doesn't have to assign bill to a committee, unlike the Senate, |

Senate bill 178 would allow confiscated firearms to be destroyed again.
It is sponsored by both a Republican and a Democrat Julie Adams is the Republican. Or maybe a RINO Regardless oppose this bill. |

There's a few bills that are aimed at destroying firearms this session.
I honestly wonder WTF is wrong with the democrats. It's like its a script. Their bills are going to be: Reducing criminal penalties. Destroying firearms. Tampons in the men's room. Abortion. More abortion. They don't seem to care about anything else. There are multiple bills in both houses for each of these things. |

It's the second half of the "Never let a crisis go to waste" mantra
When there is no crisis, create one Big part of why I left WA was because of the one party rule. Democrats have had that state locked up for decades and it shows. Taxes are high yet somehow never enough. They create a problem so they can create a tax to 'fix' the problem. The 'fix' isn't really a fix, it just spreads money around to the lawmaker's supporters without actually addressing the issue in any meaningful way. Wash, rinse, repeat At least I feel like there's still a fighting chance to keep that from happening here |

Running down to the last chance to submit bills in both houses
So the house has dropped hundreds of bills today. Most of which will be what we call Shell Bills. They will say "change of gender neutral language" or other BS. Later on, they will switch out the bill, retitle it, and sneak another bill on after the submission deadline. Sorry for not posting updates, but we haven't been getting them done until very late. They do get posted, a long with other KY events, to this telegram channel: https://t.me/minutemenkentucky |
