There will be a standard APC hike starting at 9am on Saturday Jan 14th. We have There will be folks camping and doing a nonstandard hike the night before.

Bump for those not in the MO htf. We are on track to have 10+ for our Saturday hike. If you can't make this one be sure to reserve the dates for our Feb and March hikes listed above.

People will be camping the night before if interested.

We are going to provide an opportunity for people to get experience with radio equipment if interested. Including a raffle for a free VHF roll up slim jim antenna, and adapter for your radio. To qualify, bring a handheld radio with MURS frequencies already programmed.

I will update the thread in the Ham Radio forum with some HF comms windows for people wanting to try and contact our camp.

Friday 2/24/23 Missouri APC will be at K-6528 for a two day camp/hike/training event.

Cell phone service is very limited. I might put out a POTA spot between 1pm and 4pm depending.

Any participation in helping us get some Arfcom contacts would be great.

The Arfcom Tech Net; lets try to gather in the Tech portion of the 10m band. There are folks with Tech licenses that have not got on HF.

An additional note:

Folks with HF Radios or scanners/SDRs capable of SSB modulation can post signal reports from your locations.

As a general practice, dont post call signs.

You can post the name and location of the signal heard, where you are listening from and the quality of your heard signal.

Anyone wanting to provide signal reports should do so in this thread.

The contest;

- All contacts made with our camp, that identify as Arfcom will get one entry into the drawing for each band a contact is made from.

- If you are portable, using an antenna not permanently erected and battery power, you will get two entries per band activated as portable. Please identify as arfcom portable. This can be in your backyard, etc.

- If your info is not current on QRZ and you make contact, please IM or email me your info so that I can mail your QSL card and the prize if you are drawn.

** The prize; 50' of Belden RG-8x Coax and two Amphenol pl259 connectors with reducers. Individual, or built into a length of your choosing by me. If you have an email on QRZ I will ask, if not they will ship as a kit.
