Looking to get a dual housing and upgrading from my pvs14.  

Looking at a LLI housing.  Trying to see if anyone on OH does or knows how to swap tubes.  If you’ve done it please pm me and let me know if I’m in over my head.  

From what I’m reading yo go from a 14 to the duals I’ll need an additional intensifier and lenses; is that it?  It seems too easy

You wont be able to nitrogen purge on your own. That may or may not be important. You could collimate them on your own, but maybe not.

From what Ive read online, its not difficult.

I've done it. I've been trained to do it. But I don't have the equipment to purge and I just collimate the old school way looking at the stars and making adjustments til everything lines up. It's not hard to put together, but it is easy to break stuff if you don't know what you're doing. I usually just argon purge mine with my welding tank. If you have manual gain, then the complexity can get worse but it really depends on your tubes and the housing you choose.

Yeah you'll need another set of lenses and a tube.  You'll probably want to make sure you buy the same brand lenses that you have. Like don't combine a Carson with an AGM or aliexpress.

@SGT-Fish that seals it.  I’ll just keep saving for duals.  This seems like something I’d have a good chance at ruining and then be broke with no nods.

Dude at this point I’m convinced if I do it myself I’m going to end up with a big D cell maglite with a green filter glued to the front.
