Driving home this morning, I heard on the radio that Oklahoma was considering adding a 2nd Amendment style provision to the Oklahoma Constitution. I had not heard anything about this at all, so decided to find out what gives.

NRA article

On the radio, the hosts were clearly in favor of the amendment (being a conservative talk show).  But they were concerned it was not worded strongly enough to properly protect the rights of gun owners.  Further discussion indicated it still needed to go to the senate and the wording could change there.

In any case, it would have to go to the voters in November where, IMO, it would likely pass.

The usual suspects, like the teachers union and out-of-state gun control groups, oppose it.  Oklahomans are generally gun friendly, with exceptions like schools.
