For those contemplating voting in RI Democrat Primary, and based on questions answered in ProJo Article in 20 Aug 2023 Sunday paper, suggest Allen Waters as a reasonable choice, given the other outright Marxists running.  Waters considers himself a "Blue Dog Democrat".  YMMV, of course.  In most other States with a viable two-party system, Waters would be considered a Republican.

In this State, the RI Democrat primary is the election, so consider your choice carefully.  With the large number of candidates running in the primary, the winner might get-by with a relatively small number of votes, i.e., the highest vote-getter wins.  Dis-Affiliate immediately after voting, using the term "Non-Affiliated", wait a month, and check with your local board of Canvassers to ensure no "errors" were made.

Quote from Bing AI:  "According to the Providence Journal, there are a dozen declared Democratic candidates and two Republicans competing for their party's nod to run in November for the seat that U.S. Rep. David Cicilline resigned mid-term. The article also mentions that in the 60 days leading up to the Aug. 6 deadline for potential primary voters to switch their party affiliations, nearly 500 voters in Rhode Island's 1st Congressional District switched from Republican to "unaffiliated." 1,522 voters switched from Democrat to "unaffiliated" during the same 60-day stretch. As "unaffiliated" (aka independent) voters, these party-switchers have the option of voting in either primary on Sept. 5. There have been no independent polls, so it is difficult to say who is leading in the CD1 primary race."

Aside from correcting voter registration errors, I can see only one reason for someone registered as a Repub or a Dem to dis-affiliate immediately prior to a Primary, and that is to be able to vote in the "other" Party's Primary.

D&L is suggesting Casey any thoughts? anyone? there are enough canidates in the race to drive the election in a favorable direction for us by diluting the numbers.

Latest Democrat polling results (scant as they are) indicate Regunberg in first place, Amo in second place, and Mattos trailing.    See HERE

It may well be that Casey is the least toxic of the remaining Dems who have even a remote possibility of winning the primary.  "Least Toxic", in this context, isn't saying much.  If there's much difference between Casey and the others it may be that he is slightly less Marxist than the rest.
