Today at a press conference in Santa Fe, the governor unveiled her anti-gun and anti-freedom wish list for the 2024 Legislative Session. While we don't yet have bill numbers for each item, we are expecting them all to be filed in 2024.
A semi-automatic rife ban modeled after the failed federal proposal from Senator Heinrich
Banning the carrying of firearms in parks, playgrounds and near polling places
Raising the age limit to purchase firearms to 21
A 14-day waiting period when purchasing a gun
Expanding New Mexico's "red-flag" gun confiscation law (HB27)
Making it easier to sue gun manufacturers and retailers
Additionally, today we learned that a bill to place a 11% excise tax on the sale of firearms and ammunition in New Mexico will also be filed.

Our rights are on the line in 2024. We need every New Mexican who values their freedom and constitutional rights to get involved this year.

I can't believe this is happening in NM.  The state is a magnet for crime because criminals know the liberal DA's and judges won't do anything to stop them, and then the left goes after people's guns.  The same shit is happening here in Maryland.  The attorney general here now wants to sue gun makers for criminal's actions.  They won't to shit to stop crime.  They arrest minors with guns committing violent crime, and then give them back to their parents the same day.  I hate liberals.

Feel free to share the info below if you like;

Murder by Weapon for NM in 2022 from the FBI's web site.

Total murders reported = 195
Handguns = 67
Firearm unknown = 55
Unknow method = 21
Knives = 13

RIFLES OF ANY KIND = 7

Personal weapons = 6

Sad stuff.

These idiots keep voting for these pieces of shit. Most demoncrats that I know don’t even follow politics, they vote demoncrat because their grandma did, or their dad did, or whoever raised them did.

They’re completely oblivious to the socialist- progressives taking over their party. They don’t want to hear it & they damn sure don’t want to be confronted about it either.

I’ve tried asking them, you’re ok with babies being killed up until birth? “Oh, that’s not true.”
You want our tax dollars going to take of people who shouldn’t be here? That leaves our own people who need help out in the cold! “Oh, that’s not true.”
No nation on Earth has wide open borders, why should we? “Oh, that’s not true.”
You want our justice system to ignore real crimes & go after their political opponents? “Oh, that’s not true.”

They refuse to believe that this shit going on. It won’t change until it affects their daily life. I.E. their EBT card.

Please post bill numbers when known.  Heinrich's bill decided to ban firearms, not on their "evil characteristics" but on how they functioned: semiautomatics bad, bolt action good. Frankly, I don't see how these types of bans are constitutional. Also, is the governor's proposed AR/AK ban going to be retroactive (I.e., confiscation) or will existing firearms be grandfathered?  Even the old expired Federal so-called "assault weapons" ban had a grandfather clause. I think this is another clear statement that Democrats ARE coming for your guns. Please WAKE UP NEW MEXICO! Vote them out or at least let them know you're not going to support outright firearm or magazine bans or you will vote them out.

I told everyone when she started this months ago that NOTHING would happen to her and that she would not only be praised, but would continue. I called it.

I cringe every time the legislature is in session. We will be lucky not to get something awful foisted upon on this year.

I don’t know anything beyond that flyer as well.

I’m 2.5 hours from SF, plus it’s tax season (I work for an accountant) not sure I’ll be able to make it. I hope a lot of people show up. But this being such a rural state, I’m not sure that’ll happen, it’s a long drive for most people.

HB129 (14 business day wait to buy firearm) has been fast track to be voted on today.
In fact, all gun bills have been fast track to be voted on.

So if I'm reading this correctly, HB129 (14 business day wait to buy firearm) has passed the house of representatives on the 2nd. (yesterday) so that means its on its way to the senate (the last leg).

Correct. Senate needs to vote on it as well.

The bill was also changed on the floor, before the vote, it’s now a 7 day waiting period. Oh thank you benevolent masters.

Any idea when that vote will happen?

Says, “scheduled for Senate  judiciary committee on 02/05/24”

So they’ll talk about it, pretend to listen to the opposition & then recommend it for a vote on the Senate floor. So, I’m guessing they’ll vote on Friday or Monday. They’re running out of time to fuck our assholes.

Looks like HB137 died. I wrote a brief in opposition to it. The AG's analysis was light and didn't provide a true Bruen analysis.

In this session yes, but don't forget that both house committees advanced it with a "do pass" on complete party line votes.  Expect it to be back next session.

They've been coming back in some form every year and I keep writing analysis opposing them and send to every committee member. I just wish SCOTUS would stop these attempts at AR/AK and LCM bans under Bruen. The dissent in Bonta has the best analysis of this area citing the historical precedents.

Thank you for doing that tinman.

This shit is getting old. It never ends, they make stuff up & throw it in to see how much they can get away with. One day, they’re going to get all they want & then, hopefully, the shit will hit the fan.
