Hello, I am planning to shoot the USPSA Area 7 match in July at SIG Sauers Academy in New Hampshire

I am going to make it into a trip with my wife and visit the whole North East.

The current plan is to fly into Boston and fly out of Bangor.

From a brief look, my Georgia CCW will be good to go in Vermont/New Hampshire, and Maine does not require a permit.

Massachusetts looks like a no-go from a CCW perspective and from what I am also reading has a ban on standard-capacity magazines?

My main question is, do any of these states have any funky laws regarding possessing a handgun along with normal capacity magazines?

ETA: Looks like Vermont also has a ban on standard capacity magazines. I am a 07/02 FFL so I need to look and see if manufacturers are exempt from this. (Some are more equal than others if you pay the government enough money)

Y'all seem to have the most active HTF, so I figured I would start here vs. posting threads in each state's forum.

Possession of any gun/ammo/components/mags >10 rds in MA is a felony. MA loves to prosecute normal law-abiding citizens for these kind of "crimes".

FOPA may give you protection if you retrieve your bags, IMMEDIATELY pick up your rental car, secure everything in locked cases in the trunk and do NOT delay yourself in MA for anything before making your way to Free America.

Otherwise, have a nice trip.

Oof, Maybe we will just fly into Maine then. Don't want to risk shipping mags for a big match.

Thank you

That would be the best alternative and avoid MA completely.

Manchester NH airport is another safe alternative. NH is constitutional carry, so no issues here.

We decided to fly into Bangor, skip Vermont, shoot the match, ship mags/gun home then fly out of Boston.

Have you checked UPS and FedEx regs on shipping guns? They no longer will accept any guns from anyone who isn't a dealer/mfr/gunsmith, and they have to be members of their special shipping program!
