I have an SBR .22lr AR. The barrel is tucked underneath the handguard. Current suppressor is threaded directly. The end of the suppressor keeps unscrewing off when I want to remove the suppressor from the host. So I have to remove my handguard to unscrew the entire suppressor.
So I was thinking the cam lok might be a good setup but I'm unfamiliar with what parts I'll need for the .22lr setup. My goal is to be able to remove my suppressors without having to remove my handguard. Or will it even work as I intend?
Or is it designed for hand pistols only?

CAM-LOK would work for this application, however, I would recommend you look into the EZ-LOK system. CAM-LOK is great for people who do a lot of installing/removing the suppressor and allows the fastest attachment available. However, there's a little trick to get it to lock up properly and if you don't do that it can work itself loose. It's as simple as pulling out on the suppressor while twisting to tighten, but it takes just a minute of practice to familiarize yourself with it and know when it's locking on properly. We typically recommend CAM-LOK for people who need to be able to mount their suppressor very rapidly above all else.
If that's not necessarily you, the EZ-LOK is fool-proof, basically a mini taper mount, that still locks up in just a few rotations and can be mounted in seconds unlike a direct thread can, but there's basically no chance you'd install it and not get a secure lock. It also provides a tapered surface to lock up on, another improvement over direct thread. I would highly recommend looking into EZ-LOK for this application, I think you'd have a better time using that with your particular setup than CAM-LOK.
Regardless of what you decide to go with, you'll need a
CAM-LOK/
EZ-LOK barrel adapter to match the threads on your host. And a matching piston to go in your suppressor's booster housing, or if it doesn't use a nielsen device, one of our
EZ-LOK mount interfaces (or
CAM-LOK Mount Interface) that matches the HUB threading on your suppressor.
