Yeah its a disease I can tell. Now I have to save some coin so I can trick it out. Noveeske flash suppressor, new front sight flip up type, Danials Defense freefloat, JP trigger, Magpull CTR stock, Tango Down grip plus another Aimpoint and Larue grip. I think Im going to just worry about the Aimpoint and mount for now so I can use it in a couple local 3 gun matches. |

Congratulations! |

I just picked mine up on 4/12... THIS THING IS THIS BEAUTIFUL!!!
I think it needs a twin brother... |
It's better to have and not need than to need and not have...
Shot mine today. Put a couple hundred rounds of guatamalan surp thru it and it ran like sewing maching. HOWEVER the trigger is mushy/creepy and just plain terrible. Im going to have to get a JP drop in for it.
Just put some moly paste on the engagement surfaces and dry fire/shoot the crap out of it. That will break the trigger in nicely. It's not a competition gun; keep the trigger stock IMO. |
Wow. Mine is the exact opposite. If is extremely crisp and has very little break in it. |

Fired a round into the floor while pistol whipping the guy? How many times do I have to remind everyone -- KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER WHEN PISTOL WHIPPING SOMEONE. It's just common sense.

SAW has a nice trigger package that improves the pull, etc. Give 'em a call. |

After looking at all your 6933's i just had to order one so I gave Clyde Armory a call. If I can come up with the funds in time i might get a second.
OK, you guys are killing me! I want mine now! Post more pics if you have them! I think I would do good to delete ARF.Com from my favorites and forget about my 6933 until Clyde Armory calls. This wait is going to drive me crazy!
On a serious note........I noticed that all the true Colt Commando uppers are void of a bayonet lug. Is there a reason for this? It just seems funny that the Commandos dont have one yet the 9mm SMG's do. Hey I found this on Gunbroker........Colt 6921SP, 10inch SBR. Was this a factory gun? If so can these uppers or barrels be had from Colt? One more question...........What are M4 feedramps? How do they differ from standard AR feedramps? Are they more reliable? Pics anyone? Im asuming the 6933 has M4 ramps. Well I guess I have rambled on long enough. See you guys in September, LOL! |
Good luck and you will love the 6933 Lousy picture but shows the difference between the LE6933 and the LE6920. The difference in the feel is even more dramatic |

I paid for mine 9 weeks ago and my cleo still has not signed my paperwork. I periodically go to the shop for visitation rights.
I'm just about ready to go the LLC route and tell the cleo where to stick it. Well not really but I won't have to wait on him anymore and won't have to worry about cleo's playing politics with my rights. At this rate I will have my 6933 in my possession sometime in early 2007. |
You might confront him with the LLC route. Explain to him you would then be able to puchase the NFA items whenever you wished, with out his knowledge.
Has anyone ever sued a CLEO/Agency for not signing. They are a public servant and are only affirming the weapon is not ilegal and that you are not a known nut. I guess you would need to show some kind of damages in order to do that. I guess there is always the emotional damage done from waiting so long for your gun, LOL! |
I haven't confronted him on the LLC route as I don't want to mess up anybody else's chance of getting sign off. If I rubbed it in his nose that we can just go that route then he might just decide to not sign any of them. Speculation is that he has been talking with the county Sherriff who just recently stopped signing off. The CLEO I've submiited paperwork to is the city PD Chief. A guy was killing neighbors dogs using his legal silencer in our county because he didn't like them barking. So the Sherriff in all his infinite wisdom decided that one idiot using a silencer to kill dogs means he shouldn't be signing ATF forms for NFA items. The Sherriff is supposedly being sued right now and we will see how that turns out. I don't have the time, energy or, most importantly, the funds to sue so I'm just going to go the LLC route and I don't believe Texas is a "shall sign" state. Just wish my paperwork was at ATF, or better yet, back from ATF and my beautiful 6933 was in my possession and not my dealer's. |

Well gentlemen, I will be running my Colt 6933 through Pat Rogers' Three Day Carbine Class in two weeks. I should be putting a 1000+ rounds thought it over those three days.
I will let you know how it fairs. |

redfisher,
Thanks for the comments on my 9mm. I will still have to go with the 6933. Rails are growing on me but I have always wanted a Colt Commando. Who knows, down the road we may be able to add a 1033 upper to our M4 lowers. |
I wouldn't worry about confronting the CLEO with the LLC route. There is not a damn thing he can do about it if you just do it anyway. I would, however, consider going the Trust route over the LLC route. It's cheaper, no annual fees, etc. I transferred my Colt 6933 into a Trust. No CLEO, not annual fees, and transfer is a lot faster than individual transfers. Here is a thread on the discussion of the Trust route. Link |

Confronting him with the LLC or Trust issues may change his mind. By signing your paperwork he would then "be in the know".

Link Well I went the LLC route just so my wife can be a member of it and be able to handle/shoot any of our NFA items without me being present. When my daughter turns 21 then I can add her too and the items in the LLC will become hers if something happens to me or my wife. I've already notified the Chief's secretary that I want to pick up my paperwork signed or not as I don't need his signature anymore. As far as I look at it the $300 for the LLC was money well spent to not have to rely on some CLEO to play politics with my rights or know what I have. |

I just got on the list with Clyde Armory also for a September delivery from Colt. I spoke with Josh and he told me he is nowhere near to be limited out on orders for all the 6933's he has coming in.
I am new to the NFA thing. Can you any of the guys explain what I need to do to get the paperwork started with BATFE? Josh said the rifles won't be in until September so how do I get a S/N to begin the paperwork early? Does Clyde get a list of S/N's early from Colt or what? Help a noob at this SBR NFA thing. Thanks, bluedogsixty |

Bluedogsixty. Are you in the same state as Clyde Armory? If so they can do the transfer directly to you. If not, you will need to find a Class 3 in your state to transfer from Clyde Armory. If you go to subguns.com they have a recommended dealer list broken down by state. You can consult that. Most Class 3 dealers, I believe, are hesitant about doing the Form 4s until they actually receive the firearm because of the potential for the wrong serial number to come in. You may just have to wait. If I were you, I would consider setting up a Trust to take posession of NFA items. It is treated the same as an LLC, but no annual fees (at least not where I live). You avoid the CLEO sign off and the transfers are generally faster. I put a link to the discussion on the Trust route a few posts back. Good luck. |

No, I live in Texas. I looked through the link on Class III dealers in Tx and there are a couple. One in Dallas and the other in Grapevine. My local FFL is not a class III. I have decided based on your inputs and the discussion in the trust thread to go that route as is seems easier and faster. I have a question on the form 1 which goes in to the BATFE with the copy of the Trust and the $200 check/mo. Where do I get the Form 1 from???? Also, tell me if I read the thread correctly. In the Trust, I will list myself as the Grantor and my wife as Trustee. That way we can both have access and use any items listed in the Trust. Is that correct? Also, on the Form 1, do I only list the name of the Trust as owner or do I put the name of the Trust and myself as the Grantor? Just don't want to make any mistakes. Thanks very much for your help, bdogsixty |

Your regular FFL can do the transfer, but would have to pay a $200 transfer tax from Clyde Armory to him and then there would be another $200 transfer tax to you. The Class 3 are exempt from the tax, so it is the better route to go. I would highly recommend that you consult with an attorney before going the Trust route. In general, however, you would be the Grantor and you and your wife would be the Trustees and the beneficiaries of the Trust. That way both of you could lawfully posses the item. Again, I would take the time to consult an attorney in your area. It should not be that expensive and it could save you a lot of problems if you do the Trust wrong. |

I ordered a copy of Quicken Willmaker and was going to try to setup the Trust with and run it by an Atty or someone in the know concerning Trusts before submitting it to the ATF. Does that sound reasonable? |

Are you sure about that? I went through a Class 3 dealer in Arlington, VA and the transfer from Clyde's to him was on an ATF form and without the $200 tax. Only when I got my tax stamp could he transfer the hot little b-tch to me. . . . Oh, and if you are following this thread, you know I'm a wannabe because I'm talking about my SBR. |
Hey, hey, LW McVay!

Yes. Transfer from Class 3 to Class 3 is tax free. The transfer is accomplished on a Form 3. The $200 excise tax is only incurred when the Class 3 dealer transfers the weapon to you on a Form 4 or someone transfers it to you on a Form 4. |

Does this weapon have the large trigger and hammer pins and does it have the sear block?
thanks |

.170 pins = YES Sear block = NO (but has un-milled area) same for all Colt LE series guns |

Congrats on picking up your new toys. Where do you normally shoot? If you ever want to give that nice shorty a workout at Ft. Meade send me an instant message or email. I missed out on the 6933 from Howard, so looks like I might have to give Clyde's a call. |

Wreckdiver, are you referring to the thing that cannot be mentioned on the internet, when you talk about shooting at Meade?
Clyde's is the way to go on the 6933. . . |

I got a chance to use my Colt 6933 during Pat Rogers' Three Day Carbine Class. I shot, and this is just an estimate, between 1000-1200 rounds during the course. Only one non-planned malfuction and it was my fault for putting my hand over the ejection port causing the spent casing to fall back in the chamber. (The burn helped me learn my lesson). Other than that it fed like a champ and went bang each and every time I pulled the trigger. I declare it to be a uber-reliable zombie stomper.
One thing I did notice was that there was some odd wear on the left side of the lower receiver where the anodizing was stripped away. I will post a picture for your evaluation and hopefully diagnosis. |

Thanks for the invite. I usually shoot at Elkneck, but honestly I haven't been for some time. Too busy with work and kids. |

Shot mine Fathers Day. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did however have to adjust the front sight post about 6 or 8 clicks down to zero at 25 yrds with Wolf 62 grain. It was shooting about 2-3 inches low. Windage was "Perfect" mechanical middle setting. Groups were tight. All 4 other Colt AR's I own were "Spot on" with factory setings. The front sight post now seems noticibly lower. Any thoughts?
Thanks |
What a great way to spend father's day. I don't know if I could have waited that long to shoot such a cool weapon. I just took my first steps into the NFA world with a .22 supressor. If they paperwork goes smoothly it might lay the groundwork for one of Clyde's 6933's. My problem is I always find something else I want. It's hard to wait for something that hasn't even been built yet.
Wreck,
Hang in, and get a 6933. They are worth the wait. |
I would not bet against it. I doubt it will be "XCR-like", because I don't think Colt is producing many (other) LE guns at all. Look around at SAW, and other typically reliable Colt LE sources, and there is virtually zero inventory. Colt must be building something. Maybe it is full-tilt building M4's to catch up on back-logged orders. But with Hk and FN holding the industry spotlights right now, I hope they are busting ass to get their piston offering out. I can wait, but anxious to see it happen at the same time. Better "right" than "fast" |
